I have a 30 year background in health care with experience as a ward sister in general medicine and endocrinology. I gained a first class ho

nors degree at Central Lancashire University in Herbal Medicine over 6 years ago and have also trained with Dr Natasha Campbell McBride as a GAPS practitioner. I co-teach on a Weeds and Wild Medicine course at Offshoots Permaculture, Townely park, Burnley and lead Wild Medicine walks and medicine making workshops in the northwest. I have a keen interest in nutrition and Gut health, believing it to be the root of many of our modern illnesses. I'm passionate about connecting people to our wild native medicines and landscapes.

Plantain is an amazing herb, readily available almost all year-round, and it's everywhere!
One of the sacred herbs of our ancestors, it is a premier first-aid herb and essential plant wisdom when travelling. Plantain has a multitude of uses and is deemed by some as a universal herb as it is so good for all systems of the body, including lungs, digestive tract, liver, bladder and skin.
The next herb class at Philips Park in Whitefield is on Tuesday, 21st April, and we will spend the evening really getting to know Plantain, from guided tastings to medicine-making, as I demonstrate how to make a salve that is great for insect bites and first aid. The cost is £20 and includes emailed handouts.
If money is an issue, a bursary is available from Incredible Edible Prestwich. Email me for details.

menopause is a major womens midlife rite of passage that more often than not lacks mentors and community support. In these monthly wise women workshops we explore aspects of menopause, learn about herbal medicine, connect with deep ancestral wisdom though shamanic journey work and wild woman drumming. The next session is about the journey of fire - hot flushes and night sweats. The link is on the comments xx

Menopause is an evolutionary process with a purpose. Mother Nature does not do anything by accident. It is a major midlife rite of passage that takes us from our fertile year to our wise woman years. Menopause is a powerful initiation in which we are invited to let go of who we were before, as we reconstruct ourselves to become a woman who is in her power. Join me in Chorley an exploration of this powerful transition. x

After a 2-year break, I'm excited to be facilitating Wise Woman - Rewilding menopause again at the Harmony Hub in Chorley.
So many women struggle through this major rite of passage, and it's good to offer monthly workshops that bring midlife women together with herbal medicine, discussions, strategies for support, shamanic journey work and wild woman drumming.
The first one is on Thursday, 9th October, and then it's the first Wednesday of each month. I'll be posting more information over the next week. xx

Do you know how to use local wild medicines to help stop a wound from bleeding?
Heal a wound?
Draw out a splinter or boil?
Clean up an infected tooth socket?
Calm an insect bite or even heal and soothe a minor burn?
Having the skills to treat minor injuries with the herbs that grow around us is a valuable life skill that you never know you might need someday.

In this Herb class, we will learn how to work with herbs in acute situations and for non-serious home first aid.

We will be covering wound care, burns, bites, sprains, fractures, stings, bruises, fever, and so much more. I’ll be demonstrating how to make a wound healing balm from the late summer land. x
