Bolton Baby Memorial Garden To inform and involve bereaved parents and families in the upkeep, maintenance, events and ownership

Father's Day can be a very difficult time for Dads who didn't get to take their baby home. Today especially, our thoughts are with all those Dads.

With love from all at Remember My Baby this Father's Day.

Hi All, I hope you are all coping during this difficult time?
I have been asked by a couple of you about accessing the Baby Garden. As I am working from home at the moment I just wanted to check with with the Hospital Managers and Grounds staff as to whether this was possible.

The answer is yes families can come to the Baby garden, please observe Social Distancing, and not to come in larger groups. My suggestion is to avoid lunch times particularly during the week as staff use the garden in the nicer weather for their lunch breaks. Probably the best time is late afternoon, early evening during the week or weekends.

The grounds staff will be doing some tidying up of the baby garden this week. If you notice any w**ds, rubbish, or dead flowers/plants please can I ask you to help us keep the Baby Garden clean and as tidy as possible. Thank you for your support.

Hope that helps?

Catherine

Hi All
Update on Baby Garden Plaques
My name is Catherine I am the Deputy Head Chaplain. I have only recently got access to the admin to this page. I wanted to update you in regards to plaques for the baby garden with the current situation.
We are not able to order plaques at the moment as we get them through Timpson's which are closed. I also need to sort out a new way of ordering them.

Those who have ordered a plaque before January and are still waiting a plaque can you please email me the details and I will get someone in the chaplaincy office to locate the plaques.
babygarden@boltonft.nhs.uk

For new plaques, I will put another notice on here as soon as I have sorted the situation out I will let you know when we can order plaques again.

Today we have had the new sculpture installed in the baby memorial garden. We would like to say a special thank you to everyone at Fishwicks for all their hard work to get this finished in time for the wave of light event. Thank you to everyone who donated and a special thank you to everyone at Greenhalgh’s bakery for their donation.

We need your help. We want to do a tidy up of the garden in preparation for the wave of light event. The best day in the weather forecast is for this coming Saturday. We need parents and families to come along and help. If we get enough volunteers it only takes a couple of hours. If you can spare some time please meet in the garden at 10.30 on Saturday.

All welcome xx ❤️

We are currently setting up an e mail list for the Baby memorial garden. We have noticed that some people didn’t fill in the e mail address on the form. If you didn’t give your e mail address but wish to be included please send your details to Andy.Lee@boltonft.nhs.uk. If you did include your e mail you don’t need to send your e mail address again

A space for all seasons

Welcome to Bolton’s Baby Memorial Garden.

Our garden honours and acknowledges all babies who have died during pregnancy, during birth or in the months after birth.

The garden has been visited by countless individuals and families over many years. Recent and continuing work will help to maintain a beautiful haven for families and people to reflect on their loss and remember their baby or babies.

We want the baby garden to be a special place for all to come to as a place of peace and reflection. You are gently reminded that the only items which may be left in the garden here are fresh flowers.

We respectfully ask families not to place other ornaments, such as soft toys, plastic flowers, balloons, or silk flowers. Items which may have been left here will be removed and kept for six months for families to reclaim. Please help to keep the garden tidy and make it a special place for all.

For further details or to discuss any concerns, please contact the chaplaincy team on 01204 390 770 or via email chaplaincy@boltonft.nhs.uk

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust has a no smoking policy. Please respect this baby memorial garden by not smoking in this area, or indeed anywhere on the site
