For many years the advice I've given when it comes to looking after our health naturally has conflicted a little with the guidelines Diabetes UK have been sharing in their magazine.

It has been a source of frustration because for many years a Naturopathic, holistic approach has been proven to be effective in managing/reversing type 2 diabetes long term in a way that brings a multitude of side benefits to our health without side effects (improved energy, immunity, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, stress resilience, and lower overall inflammation for example).

It is sooo refreshing to see Balance sharing some of the techniques we use to lower our stress hormones (and therefore our blood sugars, carb cravings and waist circumference).

I am so happy right now!

If you want to find out more, grab a copy of the latest magazine or get in touch for tailored advice 📖

This World Diabetes Day let's make a commitment to talk about Diabetes.

We need to know the signs of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes so we can help ourselves and help others as soon as possible.

There are sooooo many benefits to having a healthy blood level of Vitamin D and excellent conversion to it's active form in the body ☀️

Here are just a couple you might find of interest!

It's so crucial to our short term and long term health.

Do you know what your levels are like?

We need to aim for 50-100ng/ml for great health, yet we're only considered deficient if we're below 20ng/ml!!!

Good morning!

Autumn is here and a new season is always a great opportunity to make change...

You will start to see some changes in here and I want these to be relevant, useful and still give you the kind of support you are looking for.

My name is Beccy and I've been running this group for years but never been able to give it the attention it deserves.

I gradually stepped away from my role as Secretary for Diabetes UK Bolton Support Group over the last few years as the group (and the world and my life!) were going through change.

I started volunteering in 2008 and soon ended up running the support group in Bolton, though my time and resources were stretched.

Mum to that cute young lady, Beth, who has always featured on the group and page on Facebook - she's now 16!!

Supervisor at Holland and Barrett in Bolton (now Bury).

Founder of Elements of Nutrition where I'm a Holistic Health Advisor and Master Practitioner of NLP and Hypnotherapy.

Public Speaker.

Student at The School of Natural Health Sciences (studying Stress Management and Naturopathy).

And a whole tonne of other stuff that keeps me out of mischief!

Basically a busy bee and there's always, sadly, something in our lives that has to be sacrificed in order to protect ourselves from the kind of burnout that encouraged me to change my career in the first place

Please do contact Diabetes UK for any specific queries you have regarding the charity as this group is no longer linked.

I'd love to hear what you'd like to see from a group that is focused on supporting those with Diabetes from a perspective of mental, physical and emotional health?
