😳 Time flies – it’s hard to believe it’s been 6 years since I graduated!

Stepping into the real world was daunting, but I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors and supporters who have shaped me into the therapist and business owner I am today. From the early days of studying Sports Therapy to welcoming Georgie into our Preston clinic around 3 years ago. I’ve had the privilege of learning from and working alongside amazing individuals who have believed in me every step of the way.

To my patients, old and new, your trust and loyalty mean everything. Whether you’ve been with me from the start or joined us recently, your support has not only helped our clinic grow but has also created a community I’m immensely proud of.

Georgie, thank you for being more than just a friend – you’re someone I can really rely on and obviously I think you’re a fantastic therapist 😊 Your dedication and expertise have been instrumental in our journey, and I’m grateful every day to have you by my side.

As I reflect on these past 6 years, I’m filled with gratitude for each person who has contributed to our success. Here’s to continuing this journey together, with health, happiness, and many more milestones ahead!

How to Prevent Tennis Elbow for Good! 💪

🏋️‍♂️ Strength & Resistance Training – Strengthening the forearm, wrist, and shoulder helps prevent overuse injuries. Eccentric exercises (slowly lowering weight) are especially useful.

🔄 Modify Activities – If your job or sport involves repetitive movements, take breaks, adjust grip positioning, and avoid excessive strain.

👐 Stretch & Mobilise – Keeping the forearm flexible reduces stress on the tendons. Wrist flexor/extensor stretches work wonders!

💆‍♀️ Regular Maintenance – If you’re prone to tennis elbow, regular sports massage, cupping, and acupuncture can help prevent flare-ups and keep your arms in top condition.

How to Treat Tennis Elbow 💆‍♂️

The good news? Tennis elbow can be treated without injections or surgery in most cases! Here’s what works:

✅ Sports Massage – Releases tight forearm muscles and reduces strain on the elbow
✅ Acupuncture – Stimulates healing and reduces inflammation
✅ Rehabilitation Exercises – Strengthens forearm muscles to prevent re-injury
✅ Bracing & Taping – Temporary support during daily activities

💉 Other Options:
• Steroid Injections – May be used for short-term relief but don’t fix the cause
• Shockwave Therapy – Helps in stubborn cases
• Surgery – Rarely needed, only for cases that don’t respond to treatment after 6-12 months

Most people recover with the right combination of hands-on therapy and rehab!

👉 Have you tried any of these treatments before? What worked best for you? Let us know in the comments!

What Causes Tennis Elbow? 🤔

Tennis elbow is caused by repetitive strain on the tendons that attach to the outside of the elbow. Common causes include:
• Repetitive gripping & wrist movements (e.g., using tools, typing, lifting weights)
• Manual jobs (e.g., electricians, joiners, painters, chefs)
• Racket sports (tennis, badminton)
• Weightlifting & resistance training (especially poor form)

👀 Who’s at risk?
• People aged 30-50 are most commonly affected
• Anyone who suddenly increases activity levels (e.g., gym goers)
• Poor wrist & shoulder stability can contribute

What is Tennis Elbow? 🎾💪

Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is a condition that causes pain on the outside of the elbow due to irritation or tiny tears in the tendons that attach to the forearm muscles. 👉 Signs and Symptoms:
• Pain or burning on the outside of the elbow
• Weak grip strength (struggling to hold objects)
• Pain that worsens with gripping or lifting

Have you ever had elbow pain that just won’t go away? Let us know in the comments—we’ll be talking about the causes and risk factors in our next post!
