🥶 Cold weather + heating = unhappy eyes

We’ve been hearing a lot of comments lately about eyes watering, feeling sore or irritated when out in this freezing weather.

Cold winds dry the eyes out, and indoor heating doesn’t help either — so your eyes try to compensate by producing more tears, which is why they end up watering.

If you’ve noticed:
• Streaming eyes outdoors
• Burning or gritty sensations
• Tired eyes by the afternoon

…it could be winter dry eye rather than just the cold.

If things don’t settle, it’s always worth having a proper check. Your eyes feel winter too!

🎄 Christmas Opening Hours 🎄

Here's a SATURDAY fun fact: Your eyes can detect over 10 million different colors! That's because your retina has two types of photoreceptor cells: rods (which help you see in low light) and cones (which help you see color). The cones are really good at picking up different wavelengths of light, allowing you to see a wide range of colors—far more than most animals!

👀 A little dry-eye win I witnessed today (sharing to give hope, not to promote anything!)

Someone came in who had been struggling for YEARS — constant burning, blurry vision, couldn’t work on screens without pain.
Turned out their oil glands were almost completely blocked.

After starting a structured treatment plan (warm compress therapy, lid hygiene, and later a light-based treatment (OPTILIGHT IPL therapy) recommended for gland dysfunction), they said today:
“This is the first time in years my eyes haven’t felt heavy, gritty or sore by the afternoon.”

Dry eye can feel hopeless, but it is possible to improve things when you treat the root cause, not just the symptoms.

If anyone wants help understanding what type of dry eye you may have, feel free to ask.
