Today marks two years since I opened Ash Bridge Therapy!

Reflecting on the past two years has been really special today. I've been thinking about the people I've met, the journeys I've witnessed, finding a therapy space which is warm and welcoming, and the growth I've had as a person and a therapist. It really is a privilege to do this work.

I wanted to mark the day by sharing my new logo - showing the connection between the Ash tree as a symbol of rebirth and healing, and the bridge as a symbol of overcoming obstacles and moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past couple of years. I look forward to what the next year holds.

Grateful for the shade and connection to nature that my lunchtime walk gave me today. Before setting off I took a minute to think about what I wanted from the walk and I realised I wanted to let my thoughts wander and give myself space to be inspired by the environment. It was just what I needed, I finished the walk with a much clearer head and with my body feeling calm and refreshed.

Great training today with “With the Earth in Mind”. I loved the format of online and outdoor exercises (these are my two favourite pictures from my garden). It gave me space to think and practice how to bring ecological working and an outdoor mind into my work.

New blog post.......

When I thought about the name for my therapy business, it was important to me that it reflected my roots, my love for nature and my hopes for the future.

One of the things I've heard from people I've worked with is how apprehensive they've felt coming to the first appointment. Part of that is about no knowing what the room will look like, where they will be sat and what's in the room. My face to face appointments take place in safe, warm and welcoming rooms, which become our space.

It's where we can build a relationship, where all emotions and feelings are accepted and where you can take steps to understand yourself.

See below for pictures of the rooms I use. To book a free 30 minute consultation, email me at gemma.masingiri@outlook.com

Three reasons outdoor therapy might be for you:

· Being in nature has been proven to have a positive impact on our levels of stress and anxiety, calming our body and mind;

· Our relationship with the natural world and non-human life recognises that we are connected to each other. It is in this relationship that we can heal;

· Movement such as walking or other activity enables the body to release stress hormones that are trapped in your body after a traumatic event, and gives a sense of calmness and wellbeing. This is an essential part of therapy.
