Leaking urine after having a baby is COMMON, but it definitely isn’t normal.
So many women put off getting help after having a baby because they think or are told it’s normal to leak and to be expected after having a baby!
Common causes of leaking can be-
🎀 Coughing
🎀 Laughing
🎀 Running
🎀 Bending
🎀 Lifting
🎀 When the urge to urinate happens

If you suffer with any of the above, whether or not you’ve had children it is NOT normal and a Pelvic Health Physio can help you.

Pelvic Girdle Pain in pregnancy can start at any time and become extremely debilitating. It’s common- but NOT normal, and you don’t have to suffer with it.
Physiotherapy can help by assessing the pelvic joint, treating with manual therapy and exercises to help you during your pregnancy and aid in recovery after delivery.

People being ‘put off their breakfast’ is everything we fight against and a barrier to many women seeking support for incontinence!!

Did you know during childbirth your pelvic floor muscles stretch to 3.8 times their normal length1 tats like your bicep being the same length as your body!
And yet we expect it to snap back we no need of a thorough check up! It that was any other muscle you’d be automatically under physio for rehab with no fear of embarrassment! It’s unrealistic to expect no issues after and doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong if you need support but your best friend didn’t! Everyone’s postnatal journey is different! You might be 6 week, 6 months or 6 years postpartum- we can still help you!! Message for more information

Lorraine viewers took to social media to say they were "put off" their breakfast as host Lorraine Kelly confessed to doing pelvic floor exercises whilst on air. She was discussing incontinence with comedian Gusset Grippers

Did you know during childbirth the muscles of the pelvic floor stretch to approximately 3.5 times their normal length- to put that in perspective if it was your bicep 💪🏻 your arm would be over double it’s normal length!! And you’d definitely be having rehab after. It’s crazy to think after birth the same attention isn’t given to the pelvic floor. It’s not ‘normal’ to have incontinence after birth, it’s not ‘normal’ to not be able to return to activity. Your pelvic floor needs rehab. Physiotherapy can assess and treat pelvic floor dysfunction brought on by childbirth and help you to return to your normal activity. Message for details.
