Athlete's foot is a common fungal infection that affects the skin on the feet. It often starts between the toes and can occur anywhere on your feet. It can cause itching, redness, cracking, and peeling. It thrives in warm, moist environments - like sweaty socks and shared changing rooms.

These 5 top tips help prevent infection:

1. Keep feet clean and dry - wash daily, and dry thoroughly, especially between the toes.
2. Change socks daily - opt for breathable, moisture-wicking materials like bamboo.
3. Wear breathable footwear- avoid tight shoes, rotate pairs to allow airing.
4. Use flip-flops in communal areas- protect your feet in showers, around pools & gyms.
5. Don't share footwear or towels- fungi can easily spread this way.

If you notice any signs of infection, don't ignore them, early treatment is key!
