As month begins we wanted to share Helen's story - she's been living in our supported living scheme in Manchester for a few years now, and the team there have supported her with her mental health, day to day activities and to develop life skills.

Our support workers help people like Helen live independent and fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support.💜

The skills you need to be a support worker include emotional intelligence, communication and resilience. Could you have a career in care?

For many men, speaking openly about mental health can feel unfamiliar – even uncomfortable. Whether through social conditioning or personal experience, men often carry the expectation that they ought to just soldier on. But we all know that silence doesn’t always serve us. 💜

That’s why at Cera we're pleased to be starting a new Men’s Mental Health Employee Resource Group, Cera Men Connect ♂️ a space where colleagues can come together to talk, listen and learn in a way that feels safe, supportive and respectful.

The group is open to Cera colleagues who identify as a man and to allies who want to be part of the conversation.

It's all about creating a healthier culture around mental wellbeing for men.

Monday is World Hand Hygiene Day! A reminder that hand hygiene "the right way" is crucial for protecting both service users and healthcare workers.👐

Remember👉
- Disposable gloves don't offer 100% protection and can get contaminated just like bare hands.
- Remove gloves immediately after completing a task, and always practice hand hygiene after glove removal.
- Assess each task to determine if gloves are necessary.

🖐️Examples of when to use gloves: exposure to bodily fluids; contact precautions; outbreak situations; emptying a urine drainage bag.

✋Examples of when gloves are generally NOT required (except for contact precautions): giving oral medication; assisting with dressing or mobility; taking blood pressure; handing out meals.

🍵Time for a Cuppa is Dementia UK’s annual tea party fundraising event. It’s a fantastic way to get together with friends, family or colleagues to share cake and a brew and raise vital funds for families facing dementia.

Our carers across the UK make thousands of cuppas a year for our service users! 💜
It’s a simple way to make a big difference - just put the kettle on and share a moment that matters.

We've even got a blog about the Power of a Cup of Tea! https://bit.ly/4m1e2jh

🏆This Administrative Professionals Day we're giving a big shout out to all the branch staff who work behind-the-scenes to deliver care. 💜 An integral part of the care team, they manage shifts and rotas, hours and visits, care packages and all the 'paperwork' needed to deliver quality care.

We appreciate you! 👏
