Bolton Children's Asthma page Bolton Children's Respiratory Specialist Nurses provide, advice, information and education about Asthma and other respiratory conditions to local families.

The children’s respiratory specialist nurses are based at Breightmet Health Centre and work Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) 8a.m. – 6p.m. When the respiratory specialist nurses are not on duty the children’s community nurses offer support to any of our current patients and their families, daily until 8p.m. and at weekends 8a.m. – 8p.m. The children’s respiratory nursing team accepts referrals for children living in the Bolton area who are registered with a Bolton General Practitioner (Gp), from a variety of sources including:

Children’s wards
Children’s accident and emergency departments
Children’s community nursing teams
Paediatric consultants
General practitioners (GPs)
Practice nurses
Specialist nurses
School nurses
Health visitors
Other health or social care workers
Schools
Nurseries
Parents and legal guardians. Following the receipt of a referral letter from any of the above, the respiratory nurses will arrange an appointment at home or in one of our nurse-led clinics.
