Kingsley Organisation

The Kingsley Organisation began life in 1987 on the site of a former school in the village of Kingsley in East Hampshire.

The Kingsley Centre, as the building became, is now the headquarters of our organisation. We exist to provide personal development and training opportunities for disabled people, both directly through our Disability Services and through the provision of services to the community. We established ourselves as a unique place where real inclusivity and personal learning sit alongside one another. We focus on twin aims:

•To provide self development and training opportunities with and for disabled people

• To provide services to the community in an inclusive and enabling environment so that everyone can enjoy a variety of resources and opportunities, which promote learning, wellbeing and cohesion
Since we began, initially as a means to address a deficit in provision in the Hampshire area, we have grown and also provide our Disability Services in the London Borough of Camden. All that we provide has grown out of the ideas and needs of the disabled people we work with. At the Kingsley Centre itself, we seek to play an active role in the local community through the provision of a high standard of facilities and community services. These are provided wherever practicable with the involvement or our disabled participants, facilitating interaction with, and thereby encouraging a greater understanding of, disability issues in general. As well as providing the location for the village shop and Post Office, we are also the location for a number of regular community groups, including a children's nursery, coffee morning and a range of sports and leisure facilities. Our rooms are available to rent at very competitive prices for business meetings, functions and private events. All our wok is guided by our underlying philosophy. We believe that as a society, we will achieve more if we work as an inclusive community and that every individual has a unique contribution to make. We are a distinct organisation, neither conforming to the conventional day service model for disabled people nor operating as a typical community centre.

We are hosting the next Health on the High Street!
No need to book, you can just pop in to talk to specialists in a variety of areas including finance, housing, social activities, and staying well.
Everyone welcome and hot drinks provided. Free parking on site.

Dottie Tots Nursery Schools have rearranged their dog show for tomorrow (Saturday 27th September).
Come along down to the field behind the Kingsley Centre to support them.
Our community team will be there providing refreshments.

Thank you to EVERYONE who came to support the village fete on Saturday, either as a stall holder, or a visitor. Such a shame Dottie Tots Nursery Schools were unable to run the Dog Show, but a great time was had by all anyway!
In total, £612 was raised for the Kingsley Organisation so thank you again to everyone who was involved in the day!
The correct dogs name to win the crochet farm set was Bonnie!
Raffle winners who need to come in and choose their prizes are Matt B (x2), Holly M, and Rosemary L.

One hour until the Fete opening!
The Dog Show is cancelled but South Downs National Park Heathlands Reunited are here with an agility course!
We have some stalls on the field and some in the centre, so come enjoy a day out in Kingsley 🙂

THE FETE WILL GO AHEAD!
Luckily for us, we have the community centre to use in the event of bad weather. This means, that even if the rain does pour on Saturday, we can move the majority of stall holders into the building.
Dottie Tots Nursery Schools are going to make a decision about the Dog Show so keep a look out for that.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Kingsley!
