We’re proud to celebrate Mareena, Senior Registered General Nurse at Westgate House Care Centre.

With over 30 years of nursing experience, Mareena brings outstanding clinical expertise alongside a calm, compassionate approach to care. Since joining us in 2004, she has been a trusted presence in the home, supporting residents with warmth, dignity, and professionalism.

Her passion for palliative and end-of-life care, as well as wound management, helps ensure every resident receives thoughtful, person-centred support.

Mareena’s dedication continues to help make Westgate House a place where people feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home.

Creating Memories in Style: Our Residents’ Victorian Photoshoot 👑📸✨

Westgate House Care Centre residents stepped back in time for a Victorian-themed photoshoot, and what a truly magical day it was! With elegant costumes, props galore, and carefully styled hair and makeup, everyone embraced the fun and felt confident, glamorous, and ready for their close-up. 💄👒

A huge thank you to JC from Herts College for capturing these beautiful moments, and to families who joined in, making the day even more special. ❤️📷

Full of laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories, it was a perfect reminder of how meaningful experiences bring so much happiness at Westgate House. 🌸🎉

We’re excited to be partnering with Dance-Sing 💃🎶

DanceSing is a wellbeing programme that combines music, movement and mindfulness to help people feel more connected, confident and present in the moment.

We’re currently trialling this across Meadowhill Care Home , Burford House Care Home , Byron House Care Home and Chestnut Manor Care Home, and as you can see from the video… our residents are already loving it 😊

It’s not just about activities, it’s about meaningful experiences that support wellbeing. In fact, research with the University of Stirling has shown that every hour of danceSing can reduce stress and distress incidents by 4%.

We’re so proud to be bringing this into our homes — and this is just the beginning ✨

From lively music and themed activities to delicious Irish-inspired treats residents and teams across Westgate came together to celebrate in true St Patrick’s spirit. Lounges were filled with green decorations, smiles and shared moments, creating a wonderful sense of community throughout the day.

St Patrick’s Day, celebrated each year on 17 March, is known for bringing people together through culture, music and shared traditions. Celebrations like these are about so much more than the occasion itself—they bring people together. 💚

Westgate Healthcare has been named a finalist in the 2026 HealthInvestor Awards for Residential Elderly Care Provider of the Year – Small Group!

This recognition celebrates our dedication to residential, dementia, nursing, palliative, and respite care, and the compassionate, resident-centred support we provide every day.
