🧡 Emma Brackstone a Self-employed Masseur from Enliven Remedial and Pregnancy Massage in Redland Bay, Australia, got in touch to say:
“One of my clients knew I have the MASCED Accreditation and asked me to check her toenail. After consultation, using my training of the potential warning signs and confirming she hadn’t done anything to injure or bruise the nail - I strongly advised that she consulted her GP for professional assessment. Long story short, it was a subungual melanoma that was caught super-early, treated and removed within 6 weeks!”
Emma’s client said: “I feel safe asking questions with my massage therapist which I wouldn’t feel as comfortable asking my GP. My subungual melanoma was thankfully found in the very early stages and was treated without fuss or discomfort, which may not have been the case if it had been left to develop further. I am so grateful to Emma!"
Emma said: “It was great that my client felt confident talking to me about their concern and having a second opinion. Knowing this client they wouldn’t have sought further assistance without my confirmation. It proved to me that having the MASCED training and being able to let people be aware of what that entails has brought an extra sense of care and safety to my clients. It’s something that I’m glad I found during a search for CPD and a valuable training programme which has proved to be a great asset in the long run!”
🙏 Thank you Emma for your vigilance and care, and your client for sharing their story.
