Supporting clients with their mental health in a supportive and confidential environment
(1)
My vision as a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist is to serve the individual needs of each client and in turn create a world where trauma and anxiety are healed in a more compassionate way that leaves you, the client, feeling in control of your own healing. It is my belief that trauma and anxiety cannot be healed by talking alone and a more diverse, holistic approach brings with it a more com
passionate way of healing which brings a real difference to the lives of clients. I have worked with Reiki since 2008 and have attuned over 100 students to this healing energy. Because I have a knowledge and understanding of energy and how that energy works on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level, I bring something new to psychotherapy. Through neuroscience and the use of EFT I can teach clients how to coregulate their own nervous system so that trauma and anxiety can be worked through in a safe therapeutic environment. I have worked with the tarot since 2001 and over that time became very interested in Jungian psychology. I have recently completed an area of study around using the tarot in therapy to help clients understand their unconscious processes. This has proven to be very valuable in clients understanding themselves at a deeper level. I chose this path because someone very close to me has a serious mental health illness along with a diagnosis of autism. There was very little choice of counsellors out there who were willing to work with my loved one on a holistic level. What he really needed was an approach which was more creative, where he could walk and talk with the therapist out in nature so he did not feel intimidated being in a closed room where his anxiety levels would inevitably rise. My loved one missed their needs being met in therapy because nobody was willing to think outside the box of what was thought of as traditional therapy. I believe that if a client is paying for a service, they should have a say in how they want their needs met and be offered a broader range of options. If you wish to choose the traditional way (and most clients do), then this is absolutely fine, but if you need something more diverse and therapeutic, you have the option to access this type of therapy with me. As a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist, I am registered with the National Counselling and psychotherapy Society and the National Hypnotherapy Society. Their ethos is to support their members to approach these therapies as a vocation. I see my work as my soul purpose and maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality. I take continued professional development seriously and dedicate a lot of my free time to this to ensure I am able to keep up to date with new approaches and innovative new ways of bringing healing into the lives of my clients. I have regular supervision for both of these modalities and as such abide by the strict code of ethics outlined by the NCPS and the HS. My qualifications are:
Cert Hyp CS Certificate in Hypnotherapy and counselling skills 2017
Level 5 professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling practice (PROF.DIP PSY C) 2019

It’s been a beautifully full and busy week here. I’ve completed my Creative Counselling training, taught the first part of the Munay-Ki Rites and the Medicine Wheel, and spent time with clients for hypnotherapy, counselling, and Reiki.
I’m always so grateful for the variety my work brings and the opportunity to support people in different ways on their journeys.
Now it’s time for a little rest and restoration this weekend. 💫

Another wonderful weekend of training with the Creative Counsellors, and I’m delighted to say I’ve now completed the Integrative Training Pathway that I began back in January. I’m feeling really grateful for the experience and everything it’s opened up along the way.
This weekend we explored working with sand and clay, and I have been genuinely amazed at how deeply creative work can reach. Throughout the training I’ve actually found myself moving through a healing process of my own. Creativity seems to gently open doors to parts of ourselves that words sometimes can’t reach.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be writing some blogs about the creative resources we’ve been using, to share a little more about how creativity can support therapeutic work and why it can be so powerful in counselling.
I’ll also be looking at how I can revamp my therapy room to make space for what will undoubtedly become an ever-growing collection of creative materials! My slightly fanatical crystal collecting may have to take a temporary pause while I start gathering symbols, miniatures and objects for the sand tray.
Creative counselling has a beautiful way of helping us connect with the lost, hidden or unheard parts of ourselves, allowing deeper healing to unfold. I’m really looking forward to weaving this into my practice.
✨ A lovely reminder that healing doesn’t always happen through words alone — sometimes our hands, images and symbols tell the story first.💞

Happy st Davids day!! There is something deeply symbolic about the 1st of March this year. St David’s Day reminds us to do the small things and yet above us, the energy of this week’s full moon and lunar eclipse in Virgo invites something much deeper: release.
Eclipses often mark turning points. They illuminate what we may have been carrying quietly — old patterns, emotional exhaustion, or the pressure to keep holding everything together. Virgo, with its connection to healing, the nervous system, and daily wellbeing, gently asks us to let go of what is no longer serving our mind, body, or spirit.
In counselling, Reiki, and hypnotherapy, I see how powerful it can be when we allow this process rather than resist it. We don’t need to force healing. When we feel safe enough, the body naturally begins to release, recalibrate, and restore.
This St David’s Day feels like an invitation to honour both resilience and release. To trust that letting go is not weakness, but wisdom.
Small steps. Gentle awareness. And the courage to release what you no longer need to carry. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼

I've had a few deeply nourishing days in Glastonbury, one of my favourite places ✨
Walking up the Tor, feeling the wind clear old thoughts and the wide sky remind me how small – and how held – we really are.
Sitting in the Chalice Well Gardens, beside the red spring, there’s a gentleness that seems to settle straight into the nervous system… as if the land itself whispers, rest now.
So grateful for the stillness, the beauty, and the quiet restoration that only sacred places seem to offer.
Sometimes we don’t need answers.
Just space.
And somewhere ancient to lean against. 💚

Had another wonderful 3 days of training with the Creative Counsellors last weekend. New Creative techniques using stories and fairytale, cards and paint & colour. More techniques learnt to bring into the therapy room 💖
I have been asked this weekend to think about a book that changed me, for a training course I'm attending and The Road Less Travelled by M. Scott Peck came straight to mind.
I read it during my training years, and while I can’t remember every chapter, I remember how it made me feel. It quietly shaped the therapist I became.
It begins with the line “Life is difficult” — not as pessimism, but as honesty. That simple truth normalised suffering rather than pathologising it, and that has stayed with me ever since.
The book reframed love as something we do, not just feel — nurturing growth rather than rescuing — and it treated truth, responsibility and spiritual growth as part of psychological maturity.
Long before I had language for integrative practice, it gave me permission to hold psychology and spirituality together, with depth, integrity and compassion.
Some books inform us.
Some books quietly form us.
This was one of mine.

Hypnotherapy works by accessing the subconscious mind in order to change long held beliefs that can prevent you from moving on in life. These long held beliefs are usually learned beliefs through our own experiences.
Counselling is a process that psychologically empowers you to take back control of your life whilst working through issues and problems that caused you to lose self esteem, as well as confidence in your own abilities. Sharing your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential environment with a non judgemental and empathetic counsellor allows you to explore feelings and limiting beliefs. I will do an initial consultation with you over the phone and if suitable I will organise a follow up appointment. Whether your issue is bereavement, relationships, stress, anxiety, depression, anger or any other issue that is causing you concern you can talk things through.
Each client is dealt with in an individual way and each session is tailored around you as an individual and based around the information you give me at the initial consultation over the phone.
Hypnotherapy can help with many issues including:
Weight loss
Stop smoking
Fears and phobias
Pain relief (including childbirth)
Stress and anxiety
Sleep problems
Confidence and motivation
I also offer Reiki sessions and teach Reiki and as such am a member of the UK Reiki Federation and teh CNHC.
Reiki is healing in its truest sense. It is a healing system that is a safe, natural and holistic way of treating many acute and chronic conditions and bringing about spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing. Reiki can be effective with physical, emotional, psychological and behavioural problems helping to bring relief from the effects of pain and suffering. Reiki is suitable for everyone including the very young and the elderly. It is also a great tonic if you are in good health as it will help you stay that way!
