I don’t always know why I’m choosing to go where I go until after I’ve returned home & I integrate my trip. But today, while I was in Lisbon I knew one of the reasons I’d been called here...

I felt the spirit of Portugal moving through me in such a profound way. The Portuguese are artists & craftsmen & women. There is such a vitality here, a vibrant spirit, a colourful, playful, creative & authentic energy that reminds me what I love about humans…

We are beautiful & are capable of such wonderful, wonderful things. Our capacity for creativity, for artistic expression, for play, for joy, for life, for love. Oh what beauty & magic we can create with our hearts & minds in union. How we have the possibility with creative vision to regenerate, to bring new life & possibilities to that which has run its course or is no longer serving & needs refreshing & rethinking. We have so much genius to harness for goodness, for life!!

Lisbon is not a city of perfection & yet it has the most charming realness to it. It is bursting with life & vibrancy. As I commented to my daughter on how much I love the mixture of old & new here in the city & how I love how nothing is ‘perfect’ but everything is so alive. She reminded me how much striving for perfection or neatness totally chokes creativity & aliveness & I smile to myself. It is true, we do not need to weigh ourselves down with the pressure of perfection. We need only to come fully alive, connected to our hearts & our creative spirit to bring what is so natural to us through us… Be the vessels for the love & life we are.

When we create what we truly need & desire with the love & truth of our hearts, in harmony, with love for each other, for nature & the planet & for ourselves, we only enhance this beautiful, miraculous, awe inspiring world. We only have to look at how perfectly genius nature is & remember we are nature too to know we can support ALL life to thrive on this planet! 💚💚💚

Returning after a week of holding hearth & heart in Glastonbury & Wales with my brother Ryan Mckenna for my dear soul family Oliver & Alize as part of their Celtic Magdalene Pilgrimage.

Living and breathing the nature of devotion & receiving the miracles upon miracles that this precious life brings each day.

Heart full.

The sacred code of our true humanity is immortal & alive.

By this I mean it lives within each & every one of us. Our innocence, our sacredness, our worthiness, our wholeness, our truth, our purity is alive & immortal. Ripe for reclaiming.

Eden is not lost, all remains, waiting for us to return.

We must journey deep into the waters of our being to retrieve the flame & sacred remembering of these truths. But they burn eternally within all human beings, waiting…

Once we return to embodying them, everything changes.

As I watch my cat stretch & unfurl herself in the morning sun, I am struck by the beauty of her sacred innocence. The purity of her being, the beautiful feral way she exists in the world.

I contemplate a while over human beings. How they have become disconnected from their true nature, their own sacred innocence & purity of being.

The truth is, humans in their true nature are inherently good.

Good as in TRUE.

Pure. Immaculate. Innocent. Luminous. Alive.

Somewhere along our human journey another kind of ‘good’ emerged. A goodness that we had to strive to become, that we had to earn, that we had to prove. One we could measure shaped by the roles we fulfilled, by the expectations we met, by conforming.

A goodness that lived outside of ourselves. We forgot the sacred eternal code of our true humanity.

That we already were, what we sought to become.

Led by external ideas of who qualified as ‘good’, worthy, whole, who belonged. (All eternal codes of the truth of our humanity).

We learnt we needed to be better, different, curated, more or less than we naturally were. We began to compete with each for the top spot, to defend our position as ‘good’, as ‘right’, as “belonging.”

In doing so we abandoned our true self, disconnecting from the truth of the sacred innocence & exquisite aliveness that is found in each of our individualities & the truth of who we are.

We forgot the sacred truths of humanity for ourselves & for each other 🕊️

The sacred code of our true humanity is immortal & alive. Waiting for us all to return 🌊🔥

Our deepest most tender truths.

What will happen when we express them?

Will we be rejected? Abandoned? Exiled? Will we face anger? Judgement? Shame? Laughter? Disgust?

Speaking & living our truth means sharing the feelings, needs & desires which dwell in our innermost tender parts.

It can feel extremely vulnerable, frightening & unsafe for us to reveal these, especially for those who did not experience safety (as children or in intimate relationships).

When our expression is met with a response that confirms what we feared, that we are not safe to share ourselves we learn to believe exactly that. That the fundamental needs, feelings & desires & therefore our expression is not safe, welcome or wanted in the world. That we are ‘wrong’ & as such we begin to shut ourselves down & hide these parts away out of shame…

As a direct expression of our essence & true nature we keep back or guard these sacred & pure parts of ourselves, censoring ourselves for our audience.

The truth is expressing our feelings, desires & needs is our truth and our aliveness. And we need to give ourselves permission for them to exist & to give them expression, no matter how uncomfortable it can feel for another to receive it. (And of course I’m talking about expressing in a healthy way where you are also respecting & honouring the being you are sharing them with).

Can we expand our capacity to hold the discomfort of another on receiving the truth of our beings? To be brave enough to speak, move & live our truth despite how it is received in the world. Can we give ourselves permission to fully be all of our glorious selves?

Not just the parts that are palatable. Not just the parts that are convenient, conventional or generally accepted by society. Not just the parts that are ‘loveable’.
