The Butterfly Hospice Trust Your local hospice for local people. The Butterfly hospice sits within 4 acres of grounds near to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire.

The Butterfly Hospice - We are an independent, local charity working to provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness. We offer palliative and end of life care to anyone over the age of 18 years free of cost to them and their family. Working in partnership with other healthcare providers, the hospice provides inpatient facilities, including symptom control, respite and end of life care. We rely on the generosity of our community for the majority of our funding. Our work can only continue with the support of local people, companies and organisations that give their time and money to fundraise on our behalf. Our thanks go to them and our staff and volunteers in the hospice and shops for their hard work and
dedication.

Here are three reasons not to miss it:
1️⃣ A great night out: Enjoy music from the 60s, 70s and 80s, a buffet, bar and disco all in one place.

Join us for one of the most poignant moments of our Light up a Life event, the Wave of Light ceremony and the lighting of the Hospice Christmas Tree.

During the event, you’ll be invited to hang your dedications on the tree before the lights are dimmed and we come together to illuminate the darkness with our lanterns, taking a quiet moment to reflect and remember.

Lanterns can be pre-purchased when booking, and wooden dedications will also be available on the evening.

We’re delighted to share a new project that's taking root here at the Butterfly Hospice.

Thanks to The Woodland Trust Community Tree initiative, we’re planting almost 200 new trees and hedges across our hospice grounds. The new additions include Hazel, Hawthorn, Crab Apple, Dog Rose, Dogwood, Holly, Downy Birch and Goat Willow, varieties that will not only enhance our surroundings but also support local wildlife for years to come.

Thank you to our dedicated Sites Team and volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to prepare and plant each and every sapling.

We can’t wait to see this project flourish and grow 🌿

This year, we’re introducing two new ways to honour loved ones who are no longer with us at this time of year.

Our Memorial Slideshow will feature photos and dedications to loved ones, displayed throughout the event, providing a visual tribute shared among our community.

We’re also creating a Book of Remembrance, where names can be added in memory of those special to you.

These additions offer a simple, lasting way to include your loved ones in this year’s Light up a Life event.

A big thank you to Dunelm for their incredibly generous donation of £500, gifted for us to spend in-store to help furnish our new Butterfly Lodge. 🦋

Now nearing completion, the Butterfly Lodge will offer a welcoming space for families to stay close by when their loved ones are receiving care at our hospice. A true home-from-home during the most difficult of times.

Donations like this make a world of difference, helping us create a comforting space that supports families when they need it most.

You’re invited to join us for our annual Light up a Life remembrance event, on Saturday 6th December, as we come together to remember and reflect on the lives of loved ones who continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
This years’ event will be held at Centenary Methodist Church, Boston, Lincs and will feature readings and music with a performance from the Coastal Community Choir .

Whether you have a connection to the Butterfly Hospice or simply wish to celebrate the life of someone special our event is open to all and everyone is welcome.
