Today, we take time to honour and remember the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of all those who have served in the Armed Forces, past and present.

Across our homes, our residents and staff will observe the two-minute silence at 11:00am to reflect on the lives lost and the enduring legacy of their service.

We remember with gratitude and respect those who gave everything for our tomorrow.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

Sandpiper Care Home Team Completes Charity Walk for Alzheimer’s Society!

On 11th October, the dedicated team from Sandpiper Care Home took part in a charity fundraising walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, raising awareness and funds for a cause close to their hearts.

Manager Steven, Deputy Manager Tanya, Senior Carer Joanne, Administrator Leanne, and a resident’s daughter joined forces to walk 6 miles within the scenic grounds of Wollaton Hall, Nottingham.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery and majestic deer, the team overcame different fitness levels and completed the route with determination — and big smiles all around.

“Alzheimer’s and dementia affect not only those diagnosed but also their families and loved ones,” said Steven, Manager at Sandpiper Care Home. “As carers, we witness these daily challenges first-hand, and supporting both our residents and their families is at the heart of everything we do.”

Sandpiper Care Home is committed to providing compassionate care and support, offering a listening ear and comfort to families whenever it’s needed. Through initiatives like this charity walk, the team demonstrates their dedication to raising awareness and contributing to vital research and services for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

A Woof-tastic Day at Mount Croft Care Home!

It was a pawsome day at Mount Croft Care Home as team members Naomi and Amii ventured into the Bromsgrove community to spread a little joy — and a lot of wagging tails!

Armed with special doggy treat bags, the pair spent the day greeting local dog walkers and their furry companions, sharing smiles, chats, and treats along the way. The gesture was a huge hit with both pets and owners, creating lovely moments of connection throughout the community.

“It’s amazing how something as simple as a treat can spark conversation and brighten someone’s day,” said Naomi. “We love finding ways to connect with our neighbours — both two-legged and four-legged!”

The initiative reflects Mount Croft’s ongoing commitment to fostering community spirit and kindness, bringing people together through small acts that make a big difference.

Dog walkers are also warmly invited to pop into Mount Croft anytime for refreshments and a complimentary doggy pack — a friendly gesture that’s sure to keep tails wagging all year round.

Oktoberfest Celebrations Bring Fun and Flavour to Bingley Park!

Residents and staff at Bingley Park Care Home recently enjoyed a lively and joy-filled Oktoberfest celebration, bringing a taste of Bavaria to the heart of their home.

The event featured refreshing pilsners and a delicious selection of traditional German dishes, all prepared with care and enthusiasm by the home’s talented kitchen team. The atmosphere was full of laughter, music, and cheerful conversation as residents embraced the festive spirit.

The celebrations concluded with a fun and engaging German-themed quiz, where residents and staff tested their knowledge on all things Oktoberfest — from food and culture to famous landmarks — leaving everyone in high spirits.

“These special events really bring our community together,” said Martin Deakin, Home Manager at Bingley Park Care Home.

“It’s wonderful to see so many smiles and to share moments of joy and connection.”

The Oktoberfest celebration was a huge success, creating lasting memories and showcasing the vibrant, community-focused lifestyle at Bingley Park Care Home.

Sleaford Hall Care Home Residents Enjoy a Wonderful Trip to the Little Theatre
Residents from Sleaford Hall Care Home recently enjoyed a delightful outing to the Little Theatre in Sleaford, where they watched a brilliant performance of The Importance of Being Earnest.

The group had a fantastic time, with plenty of laughter and smiles throughout the afternoon. The much-loved Oscar Wilde classic was performed beautifully, and residents were thoroughly entertained by the humour, energy, and charm of the show.

The visit was made even more special thanks to Andy, who kindly extended the invitation and ensured the group had a memorable experience.

“It was such a lovely afternoon — full of laughter, great performances, and wonderful company,” said one of the residents. “We all really enjoyed ourselves!”

Everyone returned to Sleaford Hall with happy memories and grateful hearts, having shared a truly enjoyable cultural day out.
