The below applies to all patients irrevent of who you are!
Zero Tolerance for Abuse:

We understand how worrying and frustrating it can feel when you’re unwell and you are unhappy with an outcome, or are unable to get an appointment straight away. Our team genuinely does everything they can to help.

However, it is never acceptable to shout at, swear at, or threaten any member of our staff, whether in person or over the phone.
Our surgeries have CCTV, and all phone calls are recorded.

We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy. Any abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour will result in appropriate action, which may include removal from our patient list or forwarding the incident to the police.

Thank you for treating our team with respect.

When a Receptionist asks a Patient why they want to see a GP, they are not being nosy or interfering, it is part of their role.

They are asked to ask and are trained to ask certain questions to ensure that you receive:

• the most appropriate medical care
• from the most appropriate health professional
• at the most appropriate time

Receptionists also do this:

• to help doctors prioritise visits and phone calls
• to ensure that all patients receive the appropriate level of care
• to direct patients to see the nurse or other health professional rather than a doctor where appropriate

Reception staff, like their clinical colleagues, are bound by confidentiality rules:

• any information given by you is treated as strictly confidential
• the surgery would take any breach of confidentiality very seriously and deal with accordingly

You can ask to speak to a receptionist in private away from reception. However, if you feel an issue is very private and do not wish to say what this is then the Receptionist will respect this.

Our Practice has a team of skilled, qualified healthcare professionals who all have the experience and competency to treat many of the patients who traditionally believe they need to specifically see or speak with a GP.

Thank you for treating our team with respect.

💙 Calling all carers – we need your voice 💙

Do you care for someone living with or beyond cancer, or are you a carer who has cancer yourself? We’re inviting carers to take part in a short, anonymous survey to help shape a new information and support resource designed around what carers actually need.

This project will create a practical, easy-to-use resource to help carers access the right information and support at the right time.

By completing the survey, carers can help us understand:
✔️ What information and support carers currently receive
✔️ What has been most helpful
✔️ How information could be improved – including content, format, timing, or how it’s shared

There’s also an option to be more involved through case studies and feedback, if you’d like.

📝 Complete the survey here:

All responses are anonymous, and no personal information is included in reports. Our privacy notice is available on our website.

🙏 If you support carers or families affected by cancer, please share this post with your networks so we can help ensure carers get the information and support they need, when they need it.

📧 For more information about the project, please contact:
enquiries@hwlincs.co.uk

Thank you for helping us support carers in our community 💙

Please take a few minutes to take our survey.

Cold weather can make the symptoms of your lung condition worse and increase your risk of becoming unwell.

Cold air can cause your airways to narrow. This can increase the amount of mucus you produce and make it harder to breathe.

Cold, dry air can also irritate your airways and make symptoms like wheezing, coughing and breathlessness worse.

Cold temperatures can weaken your immune system too, making it harder for you to fight respiratory infections like colds and flu.
