Sometimes people worry that they need to have the “right words” or a clear understanding of their feelings before coming to therapy.

The truth is, you don’t.

Therapy is a space where uncertainty, confusion, and even doubt are welcome.

You can bring the things that feel messy or unfinished - the feelings you can’t name yet, the thoughts that don’t quite make sense, or even the worry that therapy might not work.

You can say “I don’t know.”
You can sit in silence.
You can question the process.
You can tell your therapist they’ve misunderstood you.

All of this is part of the work.

A good therapeutic relationship is strong enough to hold the uncertainty, the big emotions, and the moments where things feel difficult or unclear. In fact, those moments can often be where the most meaningful work happens.

You don’t have to arrive with everything figured out.

You just have to arrive.🌱

So many of us apologise for our needs without realising it.

Not because we’ve done something wrong, but because shame learned how to speak first.

Counselling can be a place where that voice is gently questioned, understood, and softened.

We take time to notice where shame has shaped our inner dialogue and our relationships. Through a safe therapeutic relationship, you are met without judgement, fixing, or expectation.

Where apology slowly makes room for gratitude.🌱

And where you don’t have to earn your right to take up space.

At The Mind Place, you are met with warmth, patience, and care. Just as you are 🤍

“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.” Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi

Sometimes we wait for clarity before we take the first step.
We wait until we feel ready.
We wait until we see the whole plan.
We wait until the fear disappears.

But Rumi reminds us that clarity doesn’t always come before action, it comes because of action.

The path reveals itself when we move.

You don’t need to see the entire staircase.
You just need the courage to take one step.

Whether it’s starting that course, applying for the job, leaving what no longer serves you, healing from the past, or finally believing in yourself - the way will unfold as you walk it.

Trust the step.
Trust the process.
Trust that movement creates momentum.

What step have you been waiting to take? 💛 Counselling sessions available in person and online.

One of my favourite metaphors is the GPS.
When we miss a turn, it doesn’t judge or shame us, it simply recalculates.🚗

Life works the same way.
We will take wrong turns. We will go off course.
But the destination doesn’t disappear, only the route changes. 🛣

If you’re feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of your next step, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Support is available when you’re ready to pause, reflect, and recalibrate.🌱

Depression doesn’t always look like tears.
Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly on a bus.
Going to work.
Getting through the day.
Being surrounded by people and still feeling alone. 🪑🚍

Depression can be invisible.
And because of that, it’s often misunderstood.

At The Mind Place, we know that many people carry more than they show. You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. You don’t have to prove how hard things are.

Talking in a safe, compassionate space can help things feel a little lighter, or at least less lonely.

Healing doesn’t mean rushing to feel better. It starts with being met where you are. 🌱

If this image resonates with you, please know:
💛 You’re not weak
💛 You’re not failing
💛 You’re not alone
Support is here when you’re ready.

At The Mind Place, people sometimes avoid therapy because of embarrassment or shame 🌱

Or the feeling that a counsellor must be “perfect”.

The truth? We’re human.

We sit with you, not in judgement 🌿

You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need big problems.
You don’t need to be brave all at once 🍃

Just a place to pause, breathe, and be met as you are 🌸

If this speaks to you, you’re welcome to reach out, gently, in your own time 🌼

That feeling in your chest that comes out of nowhere…

The sudden sense of dread you can’t quite explain.
For some people, it doesn’t pass, it lingers for hours or days.

This can be what anxiety looks like.

If this resonates, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry it by yourself.

There is space to slow down, feel safe, and gently explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

✨ Support is available. ✨
If this speaks to you, reach out or book an initial session.

✨ Now Accepting New Clients ✨
I’m currently welcoming new clients on a Friday at my practice based at Cambridge Country Club in Bourn, offering a calm, private space to talk, reflect, and feel supported.

I will also have limited evening appointments available from my new St Neots practice in the near future if this is more convenient.

If you’ve been thinking about starting counselling, or returning to it, you’re very welcome to get in touch for more information or to arrange an initial appointment. 💬💚

Hello 2026! 🥳

As the new year begins, there’s often a familiar message everywhere we look: “New year, new you.”
But the truth is, a new year doesn’t have to mean a new version of yourself.

For some people, resolutions feel motivating and hopeful. For others, they can feel heavy, pressurising, or leave us feeling like we’re somehow not enough as we are. If the idea of fresh starts, big goals, or self-improvement is impacting your mental health, please know you’re not alone.

Counselling can offer a calm, supportive space to pause, reflect, and gently explore what you need, without pressure to change or fix yourself. It’s a place where you can begin the year exactly as you are, at your own pace.

Here’s to starting 2026 with kindness, compassion, and less pressure.

You are already enough. 🌱
