Making chicken buckwheat soup for a hearty bowl of goodness.
I do love a one-pot meal donāt you?
Well this one didnāt disappoint- I used porcini mushrooms to give it a lovely earthy taste and texture. It was packed with veggies and herbs so this one bowl of soup was at least half of my 30 plants a week goal!

Do you want to know a secret?
Inspired by the editorās note of my brilliant magazine which really resonated with me so I wanted to share to give you some insight into how a therapistās mind works.
She writes āYour therapist doesnāt just hold you in mind for the hour that you sit in front of them. They research , spend hours doing notes and planning on you, they hold you in mind between sessions; its more than one hourā
This is so true, I often wake up in the middle of the night thinking about you! I often go for long dogwalks by the river to consider and think about you. I even talk to other Nutritional Therapist friends about you and your symptoms (confidentially of course) so that I can make sure I am giving you the very best advice. I spend my weekends researching the latest science to ensure I am up to date on herbs, supplements and food that can help you.
I have chosen a profession that is a part of my life and has shaped the way I think and where my mind naturally wanders is often all about you. I love it and wouldnāt change a thing.
I will always think about what is best for you which may not always result in talking about food alone! I often end up discussing your sleep, environment, what causes you stress, your past and what your day looks like from start to finish. I listen to your story to give you a plan to help move you forward in the way that will give you the best outcome for your health and wellbeing.
I offer a FREE 15 minute discovery call so that we can discuss more about you and how I can help you. https://calendly.com/evienutrition

Bone broth in a snip! Love this stuff made by that you can use as base for soups, enjoy as a warming cup of gut goodness on its own or add to your favourite homemade soups and stews for extra gut healing benefit. It tastes great too!
A great source of glycine, proline and glutamine; bone broth contain specific amino acids that nourish your cells lining the gut wall- this feels like an hug on the inside!
I am not in partnership with but I am a huge fan however if you have time to make it yourself then that is a brilliant thing to do with your time! If youād like my recipe to make your own drop BROTH in comments and make sure I have your email and I will send to you. Xx

POV on most common reason for tiredness in women over 45. š„±
āIts not always hormone or menopause related- it can be malabsorption of nutrientsā
How?
As we age, we make less digestive enzymes - these are critical catalysts for the breakdown of nutrients into smaller units making them easy to digest and absorb. If you donāt make enough enzymes you are NOT absorbing nutrients efficiently regardless of how perfect your diet is - you are not getting energised from your food.
Symptoms of poor digestion:
šBloating
šFlatulence
šBelching
šFeeling full quickly after eating
šNausea
šAcid Reflux
šDiarrohea and/or constipation
šTired after eating
Does this sound like you?
Letās talk! you donāt need to suffer or continue like this.
Join me for my next live talk on nutrition for preventing osteoporosis.
Drop YES below for registration info š
As some of you know I held a talk for The Osteoporosis Society last week to cover nutrition for healthy bones and the importance of gut health in preventing the disease. I was shocked by a few things after a chat with the ladies in this group.
1. Most ladies attending discovered they had osteoporosis after suffering a fracture from simply twisting or getting out of bed!
2. No preventative measures were offered by way of DEXA scan or testing before they got diagnosed
3. Nobody was offered a vitamin D test!
4. There is no risk assessment process in place for ladies after menopause which is a significant risk factor for getting the condition.
Ladies! we are at risk after menopause of bone thinning which if left untreated can develop into osteopenia/osteoporosis. We are even more at risk in the UK due to prevalence of vitamin D deficiency. If you have gone through early menopause this increases your risk as does having an inflammatory condition. When it comes to gut health it is the critical interface to you absorbing nutrients you need to have healthy bone tissue such as calcium, vitamin D, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus, b vitamins and zinc. Itās not just about calcium!! We need to absorb many other nutrients efficiently for good bone mineral density.
If osteoporosis has touched your life in some way and you would like to hear my talk on how to prevent it- I will do this if there is enough interest as I think this is SO IMPORTANT!!

So excited to be back learning again. This time I am doing a CPD course on acid reflux and de-prescribing PPI's.
The course is led by the brilliant grandmother of pharmacology Debbie Grayson - Practice With Confidence who has created the most amazing course for us practitioners.
I have completed my first assignment (teachers pet boast coming up...got 100% šŖš) very happy about that result!
I can't wait to help more people get to the bottom of their reflux issues, improve digestion and gut health and support people (when its appropriate and safe) to come off PPI's as they are not intended for longterm use - they can prevent digestion of critical nutrients like vitamin B12, iron, calcium etc.
It is important to recognise that diet and lifestyle factors are often to blame for acid reflux, bloating and heartburn so taking a gently, natural and EDUCATED approach to resolving any reflux issues should be your very first step before ending up on PPI's.
Wow! What a day of hiking the cinqueterra trails. My legs are exhausted!! The views are stunning and the beautiful villages along this route are well worth the effort. I must say I am pleased to be back in our home for three nights in the beautiful monterosso. Iāve enjoyed some glorious food here too! My favourite being seafood spaghetti and simple grilled fish and vegetables yum š
Have you ever walked any of this area? Iād love to hear your recommendations of where to visit whilst we are here. Back home soon to rainy UK so we intend to make the most of the last drops of sunshine we are lucky to have here. āļø

I am a proud Mum to three teenagers; this is the most rewarding and best job I have ever had! As with most things in my life, becoming a Mum of three happened very quickly, following the birth of my first child, I soon found myself pregnant with twins and had a very speedy initiation into motherhood, sleep deprivation and the benefits of healthy eating!
Iād always had an interest in how the Human body functions, spending my āmeā time reading books on cellular biology and immunology so a career in Nutritional Therapy seemed the perfect fit, a career that combined my passion for learning with the end goal of helping people to eat well.
Whilst juggling motherhood, I trained and qualified with a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy at the world renowned Institute of Optimum Nutrition and then, having found my real passion the gut, digestive system and the gut microbiome, I went on as many courses and seminars as I could. My family loved the weekly menu planning as my knowledge increased and I tried out my nutritional findings on them!
As I multitasked my way through the early years with my children, combining parenting and studying, I discovered that I had an autoimmune disease. Like most people I had put down all those little niggly medical issues to being tired and overstretched but because of my interest and knowledge in the benefits of good nutrition I soon realised that there was a bigger picture. Auto immune diseases by their very nature are difficult to pinpoint as the symptoms can be subtle and creep up on you slowly and over some time. Fortunately, my training and knowledge meant that I easily adapted my diet, lifestyle and was able to reduce my auto-immune antibodies without the need for any medication. I am symptom free and the healthiest I have ever been.
Beyond my gorgeous children and Sonny, the dog I am completely nuts about helping people make small, simple changes to their diets and lifestyle that will have a big impact on their health and well being. The biggest barriers to weight loss and healthy eating are time and practicalities and I promise you that I wonāt have you driving (or walking) miles for an obscure ingredient, everything I teach you and everything you learn will easily be incorporated and managed around your daily life and you will begin to see the benefits very quickly.
