How would you like to be heading into 2026 with FACTS you absolutely NEED to know to effectively lose weight. And yes, it does involve calories!

If you want to know how to lose weight you firstly need to know your BMR.

Your BMR/you basal metabolic rate is the calories you need at a most basic level just to function. If we eat over this number regularly we gain weight. I will show you exactly how to work this magic number out so you can be exacting in your approach to lead you to weight loss success. No guessing, no fad, just the facts.

If you want to join me for my interactive BMR workshop in January drop YES in comments below.👇

In the meantime let’s all have a bloody wonderful Christmas and enjoy the fun and festivities with no shame, no guilt and know we’ve got this well in hand to kick 2026 off and be our healthiest self.

As a Nutritional Therapist helping people regain lost energy and mood so they can get back to feeling how they used to is something I love to do! I see my job as mostly simplifying the nutritional science without the jargon to give you simple realistic and effective every-day tweaks to your diet so you begin to rebuild energy and that vital feeling lost somewhere along the way.

A common thing people say to me is "I can't remember the last time I felt good" 😪 which is so sad! and its very possibly down to a few missing nutrients which can be easily put back in.

🧠For example, if you are finding your thinking is foggy, often described as brain fog or declining memory here is one for you...

🫐Based on real studies, on real people this is what blueberries can do for you!

🫐"In a double-blind, randomised placebo-controlled trial, participants aged >65 experiencing cognitive issues (slow processing speed) were randomised to consume either wild blueberry (44 people) versus placebo (42 people) powder daily for 6 months."

🫐They found that processing speed significantly improved in those taking the wild blueberries (sometimes called bilberries).

🫐The great thing about getting these little berries into our gut is the action they have inside on our gut microbes...they just love the deep purple colours for breakfast and produce short chain fatty acids which help improve our mood and gut lining through some amazing pathways.

🫐I would love to share with you if you want to geek out with me? drop MOOD in comments below and I will send you a free handout guide on FOOD & MOOD.

🫐So...I know what you are going to ask next; where do we get wild blueberries from? These are the smaller berries as opposed to the large one's you normally find in the supermarket.

🫐I found some dried wild blueberries on Amazon UK, and freshly frozen berries in Waitrose https://www.ocado.com/products/picard-organic-blueberries/656016011?srsltid=AfmBOopLSqfjsVKRjZbddKlFfx2H0tJ_SQ4DmcWqnZEtVa3-DAsLIs43

and PACK'D have hand-picked delicious, organic frozen blueberries.

With flu season here the best way you can protect yourself naturally is to get “the good stuff” in! Nourish up on real, wholefood but here is the thing…it doesn’t all have to be fresh. Frozen is perfectly fine, in fact it could be even better because it’s picked at peak freshness and freezing preserves its goodness so you can take it straight from the freezer to gut and get all the benefits! I love who have the most awesome range of organic, frozen, veg and fruit available in or direct from PACK'D

I particularly love their smoothie packs and superfood sachets which make life easy. No prep time and zero waste. Love it!

But I’m not sponsored by them so this is a genuine post of why I love their easy to use products but my real point is to get plenty of fruit, veg and wholefoods into your diet.

The return you get by feeding your gut microbes this kind of diet is the gift in return of lower inflammation, more energy, healthier gut and regular poo 💩 🤷‍♀️🙌

Stay well this Christmas. 🎄

If you struggle to get the good stuff in because it causes you digestive problems then CALL ME!!! ☎️

Something I like to do A LOT…spin! 45 mins of good solid sweaty hardwork. I try and do this three times each week.

Nutrition input comes after my spin. 👀

What fitness do you love to do and why?

Let’s not forget the exercise for this challenge!! Who is getting their steps in? Or what are you up to?

Could you go for a brisk walk after lunch today?

My babies ❤️❤️❤️ all grown up now and one of my babies having a baby of her own soon! Reminiscing today looking back at photos of them all makes me feel so proud of them and heart bursting with love. These little beings filled my heart with so much love I didn’t know love like that was possible.

They are my “why” I got into nutrition because I wanted to nourish them the best way possible and do them proud. 😊

I wanted to share 🥰

Happy Sunday.

Hey! Stop 🛑 I know you have heard before that your gut makes 80% of your happy hormone “serotonin”

Yes your gut makes 80% of your serotonin- but that serotonin stays in the gut!! It affect gut motility, metabolism, immune regulation. This serotonin is not for your brain it’s to keep your second brain happy!

If you want more happy gut vibes then ramp up the colour in your meals! Throw in some red cabbage, pomegranate seeds and kale 🥬 get those colours up up up and feel your gut smile from the inside.

Happy gut = happy mind

Why Nutritional Therapy changed my life!

I am a proud Mum to three teenagers; this is the most rewarding and best job I have ever had! As with most things in my life, becoming a Mum of three happened very quickly, following the birth of my first child, I soon found myself pregnant with twins and had a very speedy initiation into motherhood, sleep deprivation and the benefits of healthy eating!

I’d always had an interest in how the Human body functions, spending my ‘me’ time reading books on cellular biology and immunology so a career in Nutritional Therapy seemed the perfect fit, a career that combined my passion for learning with the end goal of helping people to eat well.

Whilst juggling motherhood, I trained and qualified with a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy at the world renowned Institute of Optimum Nutrition and then, having found my real passion the gut, digestive system and the gut microbiome, I went on as many courses and seminars as I could. My family loved the weekly menu planning as my knowledge increased and I tried out my nutritional findings on them!

As I multitasked my way through the early years with my children, combining parenting and studying, I discovered that I had an autoimmune disease. Like most people I had put down all those little niggly medical issues to being tired and overstretched but because of my interest and knowledge in the benefits of good nutrition I soon realised that there was a bigger picture. Auto immune diseases by their very nature are difficult to pinpoint as the symptoms can be subtle and creep up on you slowly and over some time. Fortunately, my training and knowledge meant that I easily adapted my diet, lifestyle and was able to reduce my auto-immune antibodies without the need for any medication. I am symptom free and the healthiest I have ever been.
