✨ What Is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)? ✨
(and why it’s not like a traditional massage)
I get asked this a lot — so here’s a simple explanation to go along with the video below 👇
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to support your body’s lymphatic system — the part responsible for reducing swelling, moving fluid, removing waste, and keeping your immune system functioning well.
🩵 It’s NOT a massage in the traditional sense.
There’s no deep pressure. No kneading. No muscle manipulation.
Instead, MLD uses very light, slow, precise movements that encourage lymphatic fluid to move more efficiently through the body. It’s calming, therapeutic, and incredibly effective for people who experience:
• Puffy ankles & feet
• Fluid retention
• Post-surgery swelling
• Hormonal swelling
• Low immunity
• Chronic inflammation
• Feeling “heavy,” bloated or sluggish
In the video, you’ll see a sped-up demonstration on someone who struggles with puffy ankles and feet — in real time, the movements are slow, soft and intentional.
The goal isn’t to work the muscles…
It’s to support the lymphatic system so the body can detox and decongest naturally.
If you’re dealing with swelling, puffiness, or discomfort, MLD can make a huge difference — gently, safely, and without pain.
If you’d like to know whether it could help you, just send me a message. 🤍
