Demand across the remains exceptionally high following an increase in the number of calls received over the Bank Holiday weekend. Yesterday, our crews responded to almost 4,000 incidents – our busiest day on record yet. 🚨

We are urging both residents and visitors across the South West to take simple precautions during the current hot weather and to use NHS services appropriately.

💬 SWASFT Chief Executive, John Martin said “We want to be there for everyone that needs us in a life-threatening emergency; to do this, we need to have our ambulances free to respond to those most in need. If you call us and we’re not the right service for you, we will direct you to another part of the NHS, please do listen to this advice, as it could mean that you get the help you need more quickly.”

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week is just around the corner (11-17 May) and we're hosting a range of free events to bring our communities together.

This year’s theme is all about taking action – for your own mental health, for someone else, or for our communities – so we're marking the week with a range of activities designed to help people connect and boost their wellbeing.

📍 Boscombe – Join our Wellbeing Matters workshop with BCHA Learn on Monday 11 May for practical skills, healthy lifestyle support, and open conversations around mental health (booking essential)

📍 Poole – Throughout the week, our Poole Hub will be offering activities including mindfulness sessions, gentle exercise, creative activities, relaxation tips and more, more details coming soon!

📍 Weymouth – Drop in from 10am-1pm on Friday 15 May for a welcoming community event where you can chat with wellbeing coordinators, pick up practical advice, and connect with others in a relaxed setting.

All events are free to attend and we'd love to see you there!
