Here at the REC, we really enjoy coming out to other organisations across Dorset. We love meeting the people, seeing what other groups do and, of course, talking about Recovery Education!

We can also offer bitesize sessions on a range of different topics including: Boundaries, Self-Compassion and Values. As well as these we also have bitesize sessions especially for carers including: Self-Compassion for Carers and Boundaries for Carers.

If you would like to know more, just email us at dhc.recovery.educationcentre@nhs.net and we can provide full details.

Each term we run over 20 courses face to face across Dorset in libraries, church halls and other community spaces.

"I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived" and "The space felt safe, accepting and full of understanding" are just two of the lovely comments we have received from our students after they attended a face to face course.

In the second half of our Summer Term, we have places available on the following face to face courses:

🌤️Early Warning Signs in Portland on 10 June
🌤️Navigating Change in Christchurch on 11 & 18 June
🌤️OCD - Ruminations, Compulsions & Obsessions in Weymouth on 23 & 30 June
🌤️Self-Management in Bridport on 7 July
🌤️Valuing Ourselves as Carers and Supporters in Shaftesbury on 7 July
🌤️Anxiety in Blandford on 9 July
🌤️Our Mental Health in Sherborne on 14 July

If you are already enrolled with us as a student and haven't fully booked your courses for this term, just give us a call on 01202 584478 or email dhc.recovery.educationcentre@nhs.net to find out more.

In our podcast series, Caring Conversations, we talk to different trainers and peers about their experiences of caring for and supporting others. We hope to bring you conversations from a range of perspectives that may relate to your own experiences and help bring a sense of connection.

In our latest podcast, Marie and Sarah discuss those times when caring for others becomes more difficult and challenging. They also think about how to notice this is happening and what support can help when caring becomes wearing.

Visit the Carers and supporters tab on our Learn Online page https://ow.ly/f0gh50Z1G8I to find this podcast and others.

Did you know we also do courses that focus on caring and supporting? This term these include:
💙 Connecting around Caring and Supporting Enhanced Webinar - Wednesdays, 10 & 17 June 1.30 - 3.00 pm
💙 Valuing Ourselves as Carers and Supporters Face to Face in Shaftesbury - Tuesday, 7 July 1.30 - 4.00 pm

Did you also know that we can come to carer's groups and deliver bitesize sessions? We know finding any time for yourself as a carer can be difficult so we can come along to any carer groups and deliver individual sessions for you and your friends.

Give us a call on 01202 584478 or email us at dhc.recovery.educationcentre@nhs.net to find out more.

Here at the Recovery Education Centre, we are very excited by our brand new banner! We worked with our colleagues at Dorset Mental Health Forum to produce something fresh and are very pleased with how it looks!

It will be on proud display at it's first outing at the Beaminster Community Event on Friday and look forward to some of you seeing it there.
