Please be aware, an amber cold health alert is in effect until 10AM on 09/01/2026 across the South East.

Forecast weather is likely to cause significant impacts across health and social care services, including:

- A rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions.

- A likely increase in demand for health services

- Temperatures inside places like hospitals and clinics dropping below the levels recommended for assessing health risks.

- Challenges keeping indoor temperatures at the recommended 18°C leading to more risk to vulnerable people.

- Staffing or Home Care issues due to external factors (such as travel delays)

Where possible, please remember to check on vulnerable family members, neighbours and friends who may be living alone. Make sure the heating is working and all is well ❄️❤️

❤️ BCP Safe Places

We are proud to announce that Adamscourt Care Home is now a member of the BCP Safe Places Scheme.

This scheme provides a network of locations where anyone feeling vulnerable, lost, or in need of help when out in the community can go to receive support.

⭐️ Who it's for 👉🏼 While originally intended for people with learning disabilities, it has expanded to assist any vulnerable person, including those with sensory impairments, autism, dementia, mental health issues, or physical disabilities.

⭐️ How it works 👉🏼 Businesses and organisations that join the scheme receive training and display a distinctive "Safe Place" sticker in their window. If you need help, you can enter a participating location and show your Safe Place card (available to members of the scheme) or simply ask for assistance; staff will help you contact a friend, family member, or the emergency services.

⭐️ Finding a location 👉🏼 You can find registered locations on the Safe Places National Network website.
