Staff, residents, friends, families and the local community came together at to enjoy our annual summer fete. We had a fantastic day filled with sunshine, live entertainment by the amazing Mik ’n’ Simon, Punch & Judy, a raffle, tambola with lots of happy winners, games galore for everyone to join in and win some prizes and much more. Thank you to all out stall holders and those who donated the raffle prizes 😊
A huge thank you to our culinary team for the amazing BBQ food and refreshments they prepared for the day’s events.
We also had a visit from our local representatives from RNLI charity and all of this wouldn’t have been possible without the donations we received from.
Thank you to all our residents, staff and visitors who joined us for a fun-filled day, we raised magnificent total of £380.85 for RNLI, we couldn’t have done it without you! 🥰

As part of Collector Car Appreciation Day, which is celebrated on July 11th, we headed out to Christchurch Quay where our motor enthusiast residents enjoyed the classic car show that was on and a picnic in the sunshine.

What a lovely afternoon we had yesterday when Mr Kellogs, the Miniature horse came to visit, as you can see he lit up the faces of residents. Pet therapy has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including reducing stress, loneliness, and symptoms of depression and anxiety in seniors. It can also help increase serotonin and endorphin levels while lowering cortisol, leading to improved mental health and overall well-being. Thank you to Linking Hearts therapy horses for brining him in to see us all.

this week residents have managed to get out on plenty of minibus tris which included a walk down the river, beautiful views of Highcliffe Beach and an ice cream at Hengistbury Head, we have been so blessed with the weather and lots of smiles on everyone's faces.

Residents had a wonderful afternoon yesterday with Clare from The Curiosity Case. This month's theme was holidays from the past, residents looked through memorabilia and had a sing along to old songs including summer holiday. Thank you for another great session Clare

Yesterday was Global Beatles Day and “All You Need is Love” to celebrate the Fab Four in style.

We had our very own day of ‘Beatlemania’ here at Southbourne Beach Care Home. Entertainers Mik’n’Simon performed brilliantly - residents and staff have enjoyed singing and dancing along to their favourite Beatles hits. We have also shared some favourite memories and stories of living through the ‘Swinging Sixties’, we discussed music, fashion, everyday life, even the price of milk, would you believe a loaf of bread cost just 5p in the 60’s?
