What an amazing day for our trainees and trainers at The CRUMBS Project as we visited the Isle of Wight Cheese Company! 🧀✨

We had the fantastic opportunity to learn all about the craft behind their four incredible cheeses:
🧀 Borthwood with Truffle
🧀 Isle of Wight Blue
🧀 Isle of Wight Soft
🧀 Gallybagger

Our group discovered how each cheese is made, the unique processes behind them, and the skill and care that goes into every stage of production. We also learnt about the fascinating history of the farm and dairy before it became the Isle of Wight Cheese Company, followed by a guided tour of the premises.

A huge thank you to the team for hosting us and sharing their passion and knowledge—it was a truly inspiring and educational experience for everyone! 🌱👏

We’re excited to share our brand-new wall art created by Graham at SIGNofReflection 🎨✨

These stunning displays now brighten our training centre and beautifully showcase the incredible skills, achievements, and hard work of our trainees across Food Production & Service, Housekeeping, Digital Skills, and more.

From delicious dishes and impressive baking, to teamwork, learning, and confidence-building — our new visuals truly capture the heart of what we do here at The CRUMBS Project:
Training for independence. Supporting talent. Celebrating potential. 💙🧡
A huge thank you to Graham for bringing our vision to life. The artwork has already made a wonderful impact on our environment, and our trainees are absolutely thrilled to see their learning journey represented so proudly on our walls.

Congratulations to Ella!

Ella has successfully completed her work experience and is now regularly volunteering with The Den in Bournemouth.

She shared what this milestone means to her:
"I feel very, very proud of myself, and what I’ve accomplished."

This role gives Ella the chance to use the skills she’s learned, while continuing to build her confidence when working with customers. We’re incredibly proud of how far she’s come and excited to see her grow in this next step.

After seven years with The CRUMBS Project, developing both his professional and life skills, trainee Dennis has completed his training! He will continue volunteering with the Winton Salvation Army and The Parks Foundation, and he’s now also starting to volunteer with us, putting all the skills he’s learned—teamwork, communication, and practical experience—into action.

We’re proud that Dennis will continue to visit and be part of our trainee-alumni community. Well done, Dennis!

Message from Alice "This year, I have decided to take on my biggest challenge so far, to run 80km non-stop to raise funds for the incredible organisation CRUMBS Project. I had the absolute privilege to volunteer for this awesome company last year and decided I wanted to do something to help them more. They support people living with a disability to gain confidence through working in hospitality. I am on week 3, day 3 of a 21-week running training plan, and so far, so good."

We’re super proud of James!
James has joined the front-of-house team at Marsham Court Hotel Bournemouth in Bournemouth, and he’s smashing it!

During his work experience placement, James has shown he can deliver high-quality customer service in a fast-paced hotel and restaurant environment. His friendly, efficient, can-do attitude has already impressed both the team and customers at Marsham Court — and we couldn’t be happier for him.

Well done, James! 💙

Huge congratulations to Emily B, who was named Trainee of the Year last year and has now successfully gained a paid position with our staff team as a Training Support Assistant

Our training programme is designed to support trainees to build confidence, develop real workplace skills, and move into employment or volunteering opportunities. Seeing Emily continue to progress — and having her join our own team — is an amazing example of what our programme aims to achieve.

We are incredibly proud of you, Emily. Congratulations on this well-deserved next step, and keep up the fantastic work! 💙

Our Story

Welcome to The Crumbs Project. We are non-profit organisation that works with adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues and stabilised addictions. Through a mix of practical skills learning and work experience we provide our trainees with the opportunity to build their confidence, learn new skills and lead a life of independence.

At Crumbs our trainees have the opportunity to develop skills in catering, hospitality, administration and housekeeping. Trainees usually undertake a two year training programme and then are supported into either paid or voluntary work placements.

To enable Crumbs to carry out the important work we do with vulnerable individuals we offer a variety of catering services across Dorset. Our team provides a range of hot and cold food services, as well as celebration cakes- ideal for business meetings, training, conferences, weddings, parties or other events. All our food is freshly prepared, cost effective, and well presented. We are able to cater for any dietary requirements and available weekdays, weekends and evenings. It's really easy to order and a free delivery service is also available locally.

For further information about our training and food services please contact the Crumbs team on 01202 519320 or email bakery@crumbs.org.uk
