Funeral Assist and Funeral Assist Direct offers support to families on low income, claiming benefits, or those who simply do not want a funeral service at all. We are based in Westbourne, Dorset, but able to support families wherever in the South of the UK they may be. (We are able to assist UK wide subject to travel expenses)

Having supported many families who find themselves facing considerable funeral costs at a time when it is difficult to cope both emotionally and financially, I wanted to create a service which would enable people to arrange a simple, dignified funeral for their loved one, while feeling supported, and being given access to lines of potential funding for funeral costs. My staff have considerable experience in dealing with the Department for Work and Pensions, and will help complete the necessary forms to apply for a funeral payment from the Social Fund, and can advise at an early stage whether a claim has the potential to succeed. By taking away some of the financial stress, families can concentrate on their loved one and the service they wish to provide for them. Some families, or their loved one who has died, do not want any kind of funeral at all. The majority of funeral directors can offer this service, but families often find themselves paying for things they don't actually need or want. Funeral Assist Direct is able to provide exactly what the family and / or the person who has died wants. Simply to be collected from the place they have died, and conveyed securely and with care, to the crematorium or burial ground. In our experience this request is not financially driven, but made because a family or the deceased has no requirement for a service.
