Scapular dyskinesia referred to as a SICK scapular syndrome. The shoulder blade becomes anteriorly titled secondary to tight pectoral muscle at the short head of the bicep.

Patients could feel the following symptoms ..

🤕 Shrugging of the shoulder during elevation
🤕 Pain in front of shoulder
🤕 Pain at the back of shoulder blade
🤕 pain at the side of the shoulder
🤕 Sometimes referral pain

🤔 Caused by poor motor control and instability of scapular. Primary shoulder stabilising muscle weakness .

🧐To identify this in our patient in the video we looked his movement to identify the abnormalities.

👨‍⚕️ Exercise Rehabilitation in the case of this patient is to re- educate them with the correct movement and restore Scapulohumeral stability.

ℹ️ If you feeling any of these symptoms please get in touch with us at Paolo Amat - Sports Recovery or ☎️ 07543642560

Why is movement analysis so important in discovering whats causing the patients symptoms? 🤔

👆picture we where presented with a patient who had constant medial knee pain. Which came on at the start and end of every run.
He had been treated for numerous musculoskeletal injuries in the past but on this occasion it was persistent after MSK therapy. When we analysed his running gate we noticed three key anomalies.

👉 Tx and shoulder over rotation

👉left Hip drop and glute instability on stance phase

👉left knee Valgus

👉Over pronation of the left foot

🤦 left untreated this type of injury could of become worse and created prolonged recovery.

👍🙌 We where able to find the anomalies in this case and with a plan and progress of exercise rehabilitation we where able to help and get the patient pain free.

ℹ️ Suffering from a similar pain or injury we can help so please get in touch ☎️ 07543642550

Changes in muscle imbalances
can have an effect on muscle activity asymmetry in lower 🦵 .

A Recent 📖 carried out on 28 elite professional football players ⚽️ examined muscle activity asymmetry of the lower limbs 🦵

📈 results showed 68% of the players had a significant musculoskeletal abnormalities (imbalance >10%)

🧐Greatest imbalances where found in the glut muscles and the smallest in quad muscles.

🎯Hamstring and glute muscle activation exercises during resistant training in Soccer players has been shown to help
prevent injury and improve sprint performance.

🚨 The Importance of ACL end stage Rehabilitation using polymetric and movement analysis remodelling.

⚽️ Failure to return to sport from an ACLR to previous sporting levels have a elevated risk to injury.🤕

To improve a patient’s outcome from an ACLR injury its necessary to optimise the process and practices of rehabilitation.

Current best practice for ACL rehabilitation involves criterion-based rehabilitation through stages and functional recovery separated into pre – operative, early, mid and late stage rehabilitation and Return to sport training.
Key areas to improve:

🏋️‍♂️
• Neuromuscular performance (strength and power)
• Movement quality
• Functional ACL Functional recovery

Following ACLR Patients my present:

• ↓ knee extensor maximal strength
• ↓Rate of force developed
• ↓Lower limb/Closed chain strength/power
• ↓Movement asymmetries

Polymetric exercise intensity and complexity

• Consider external forces/peak loads
• Joint internal movements
• Neuromuscular activation

The patient in the video is performing a bilateral symmetrical 30 cm box drop.

Followed by movement analysis and remodelling.

Box jumping exercise used work on:

Strength – lower extremity energy absorption

Joint loading – influenced by surface stiffness (alternate surfaces to use, sand, water, grass, or trampoline)

Ground contact time: Peak force – (landing and jumping leaving the ground)

Movement control analysis from a frontal and sagittal view:

• Provide Biofeed back
• No Dynamic knee valgus appearance
• Hips drop
