Five weeks after hip replacement… jogging on the spot! 🦴👏
There’s a common misconception that the posterior approach to hip replacement surgery leads to slower recovery or higher dislocation risk compared to the anterior approach.
The evidence simply doesn’t support that.
By six weeks post-op there is no difference in functional recovery between the two approaches.
What is often overlooked is that the anterior approach carries higher risks of certain complications, including infection and intra-operative fractures.
The posterior approach remains a safe, reliable and highly reproducible technique, allowing patients to recover quickly and return to normal activities.
And this patient is a great example of that!!
