StreetScene is a charity that supports individuals struggling with addiction to get their lives back on track. I'm aiming to help at least 1 person begin a treatment by doing a walk distancing 309 kilometres with 20,000 feet in climbing.
I am doing a classic coast to coast walk from Robin Hood Bay to St Bees. Every donation will be going towards a very good cause that I am hoping will change someone's life. All of us at StreetScene owe so much to the vision of Tessa. A remarkable human being who has gone from strength to strength and has achieved so much; from winning her own battle against addiction, creating StreetScene which has been the rock that so many of us have clung to whilst we’ve navigated our own journeys to sobriety and relief from addiction, making a genuine and important contribution in the field of Addiction Research to, last year, completing her Masters in Philosophy at Bournemouth University. This year Bournemouth University has recognised what an incredible force she is – something anyone who’s had the good fortune to meet her knows – and has given her an Honorary Fellowship.
I’m sure that all of you whose life she’s touched would like to join us in wishing her a heartfelt congratulations for the well-deserved honour that B.U. has granted her.

Robert is running the Great South Run to help others obtain support with StreetScene.

Never have I attempted to run this far and for some this easy but this is all new to me
Street scene saved my life and many others so if everyone I know donated £5
That would help someone start there journey of recovery

I'll be running the great south run which is 10 miles all the money raised will go towards helping others which I can update how that money was spent after the event

"As I lace up my running shoes and prepare to take on the Stampede road race, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination. On July 7, 2024, I will be participating in this half marathon to support the "StreetScene Addiction Recovery" cause. Addiction is a battle that affects countless individuals and families, and it's time to take a stand. It was in 2017 that addiction fully took hold of my son and now he battles every day to try and overcome it. He has done many marathons and even an ultra marathon along the Jurassic coast in December 2022 so I feel it’s only right I do a running event for the charity that helped him and he has also ran for. With a target amount of £500, every step I take is dedicated to raising vital funds for those on the journey to recovery. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those fighting addiction. Join me in this meaningful endeavour and help pave the way for hope and healing."

My Streetscene clean time gratitude poem

I came into Streetscene 2005, broken and lost
My addiction had taken from me a heavy cost
But with their help, I found my way
And slowly, I began to see a brighter way.

Their support and guidance, a guiding light
Helped me through the darkest of nights
With open arms, they welcomed me in
And showed me a new life that with support and friendship I could begin

Through their program and a introduction to the 12 steps, I learned to cope, And slowly, I regained real hope
I found a new purpose, a new man to be,
And Streetscene became like my family.

With their help and encouragement I found a career and slowly, my future became crystal clear
I No longer need to be bound by addiction's hold
I became confident, strong and bold

So thank you Streetscene, for all you've done,
For helping in my journey to become someone,
I am forever grateful, and forever in your debt
For helping me to break free from addiction's evil net.

Love and light always

In 2022 Imperial Homes committed to working with Streetscene in a partnership that will span many years to come. Their aim is to help and support those with addictions in the UK.

Across last year we raised over £8000 with a sky dive, as well as helping renovate their Southampton rehabilitation centre, but 2023 we are going bigger and tougher!

With hopes of raising £10,000 brave members of our team will be taking on the three peaks challenge.
Climbing England, Scotland and Wales highest mountains in just 24 hours!
A challenge not for the faint hearted, but with a worthy cause to raise money for our guys are more than dedicated.

Over the next 2 months we will share their training, progress and the big day.
