Southbourne Tennis Club Very friendly inclusive club for ages 3 to 93. Social and team tennis. Wheelchair, physically impaired and learning disability tennis. Come and try for free.

We aim to provide social and competitive tennis for people of all ages and abilities in a friendly, enjoyable environment. We are a well-established and progressive club with around 300 adult, junior and mini-tennis members. We have an extensive activity and coaching programmes catering for everyone from complete beginners to county players, from young to old. We have a great inclusive programme for people with disabilities and impairments. Members' involvement in the club's development actively encouraged by the management committee. Big news, Southbourne! The 2026 Dorset County LTA Awards are in, and we’re bringing home the hardware. 🏆

Not only has Southbourne Tennis Club been named Club of the Year, but our legendary Dave Sanger scooped the Tennis Opened Up Award for making our favorite sport more inclusive than ever.

From our grassroots programs to our competitive leagues, this win belongs to every member who makes this club such a vibrant community. Dave’s dedication to opening up the courts for everyone is the icing on the cake!

🎾🧠 Game, Set… QUIZ! 🧠🎾

What a smashing night at the club for our Quiz Night! A big thank you to everyone who came along and served up some serious brain power.

🏆 Congratulations to The Underdogs, who aced the questions and rallied their way to victory to take the top spot! Clearly their knowledge was right on the line all evening.

A huge thank you to Carolyn and Stewart for organising such a grand slam of a night — they really set the tone for a brilliant evening.

And of course, a big shout out to Sams Fish Bar Christchurch for the fantastic fish and chips which were an absolute winner and definitely kept everyone fuelled for the final rounds! 🍟🐟

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a fun night. We love seeing the club come together like this — keep your eyes peeled for the next event!

No two players are the same especially in disability and neurodivergent coaching.

Every athlete brings their own strengths, challenges, communication style, and way of experiencing the game. What motivates one player might overwhelm another. Great coaching isn’t about changing who they are it’s about adapting, understanding, and unlocking potential.

Inclusion isn’t lowering expectations. It’s individualising the pathway so every player can thrive.
