✨Do you have two or more long-term health conditions and want to feel healthier and more active? You may be eligible to take part in the PERFORM trial!

The PERFORM trial is Personalised Exercise Rehabilitation FOR People with Multiple Long-Term Conditions.

HSU Clinical & Rehabilitation Services is proud to be supporting the PERFORM trial as an investigator site and we are looking for participants.

Led by the University of Leicester and funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), this research study is exploring whether a personalised exercise-based rehabilitation programme can help improve quality of life for people with multiple long-term health conditions.

Participants will attend group exercise and wellbeing sessions, tailored to individual needs and led by experienced healthcare professionals at our Integrated Rehabilitation Centre in Bournemouth.

Taking part may help you feel more active and confident, and the research gathered will inform whether the programme should be offered more widely through the NHS in future.

🎉 Happy Allied Health Professions Day 2025! 💙

Today we celebrate the incredible impact of Allied Health Professionals - whose compassion, expertise, and commitment to improving lives are at the heart of what we do here at HSU Clinical & Rehabilitation Services. Today and throughout this week our teams are all across Dorset supporting our partners as they celebrate AHP Day.

This year’s theme, “The Three Shifts,” highlights how AHPs are critical to reshaping the future of healthcare by:

🏙️ Shifting from Hospital to Community – bringing care closer to home and empowering people to thrive where they live.
At HSU Clinical & Rehabilitation Services, we’re embedded in the community - from our Boscombe High Street pop-up, to our work in community-based clinical settings that make healthcare more accessible in large urban areas.

💪 Shifting from Treatment to Prevention – supporting individuals to stay well and avoid illness through proactive, preventive care.
Our Sarcopenia Programme helps older adults stay strong and independent; our Care Home Project promotes movement and wellbeing in later life; and our “Groove to Improve” partnership with Pavilion Dance South West uses dance to boost both physical and mental health. Across all our dietetics services, wellness classes, and Health MOTs, prevention and wellbeing are at the core of what we do.

💻 Shifting from Analogue to Digital – embracing innovation and technology to enhance care, education, and outcomes.
We are working with partners to educate the workforce in the new world of digital, for example our ACP course lead, Amy Cooke, is working with UHD NHS to develop the skills of the radiotherapy workforce on the emerging technology of online adaptive radiotherapy with a grant from Macmillan. From digital health tools to advanced imaging and virtual learning environments, our AHPs are driving innovation that transforms how we teach, learn, and care.

A huge thank you to all our amazing AHP students, staff, and partners for your passion, dedication, and care. 💙
