Before we can build any lasting change, we need a strong, steady foundation. ✨

That foundation rests on three key pillars of physical health: rest, nutrition, and movement.

Each one supports the others — when one is shaky, we can feel a little “off.” But when all three are strengthened, you create a base that makes real, sustainable progress possible.

💭 How strong are yours right now?

When you’re a new business and your bench stops working, the immediate thought is something that needs to be “bleeped” out, the second is “how many ££s is this going to cost?!” 😫

✨I am very grateful to lovely man on the end of the phone from who talked me through the “first things to check” one of which thankfully worked!!

Thankyou so much!🙏

Not much to say this week - I am all “thinked” out from the weekends brainstorming. 🧠

Lots of fun getting creative with new ideas and possibilities. 💡

Hope you are all having a good start to the week and managing to stay cool enough!

💬 “Should I stop training if I’m in pain?”

It’s one of the most common questions I get asked.
The short answer? Not necessarily.

Pain doesn’t always mean damage and stopping activity all together can often be a bit of a downward spiral.

A good clue can be how your body responds during and after the session.

✅ Mild pain during exercise (up to 3/10 on a pain scale) is often acceptable

⚠️ If it spikes, lingers, or worsens — that’s a sign to modify

❌ Total rest usually isn’t the answer — smart load management is
In fact, staying active in a controlled, progressive way often leads to faster recovery, stronger tissues, and more confidence.

These performers were amazing! Highly recommend the show if you get a chance! 🎉

Though after the:
⚡️Spinning on your head, balancing via your jaw, supporting a whole person from your own hair whilst upside down, and being spun round by the jaw acts😲

…..I am kinda glad I am not your chiropractor! 😅

Such a fun evening thankyou. 🤗

🎉 Proud to celebrate a meaningful milestone in my small business journey this week.

🌱 What started just over 6 months ago as a leap of faith is slowly growing and I feel so lucky so have been able to create something that genuinely feels like me and that I get to enjoy daily.

🙏 So grateful for the progress and excited for what’s ahead!

🤩 Thankyou to my amazing head gardener/website wizard and all my lovely patients so far.

📢 Keep spreading the word, it really is a pleasure!

❤️‍🩹Recovery time is super important both for healing injuries but also allowing your body to “build” and repair after training sessions.

😴 Doing more isn’t always better. Rest time along with sleep and nutrition are those key areas you need to focus on, alongside whatever training, exercise or rehab you are doing.

👉🏻It’s all part of the process to get you where you want to be! 🙂

🥣Couscous really is an easy option to get a good filling lunch with protein and added healthy extras.

🐟There are times when I have literally grabbed a packet of lemon and coriander couscous and a tin of tuna on the way out of the door knowing that at least if I can just boil a kettle I have a basic lunch that will sustain me!

🥗Today I have some lime and chilli chicken, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, pepper and little salad cream but there are tons of recipes out there to make whatever takes your fancy!

🌟If you are trying to eat a little more healthily, make it easy, make it achievable and make it something you like!

🧠 Pain is more than physical. Emotions and stress can be held somatically in our bodies and influence musculoskeletal pain and our perception of it. As chiropractors we consider this within our treatment approach but sometimes a team approach is needed, with a therapist who specialises in the emotional/cognitive aspects.

👆🏻Alison Woodward is one such professional that can help with this aspect of recovery. She is a trauma-informed UKCP accredited psychotherapist, a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and additionally has worked with organisations and Higher Education establishments as a clinical supervisor and lecturer. She also runs training sessions and workshops and is a published author.

🌿For transparency I have know Alison on a personal level for many years, but as you can see she is a highly experienced, ethical practitioner who I am more than happy to recommend and refer to. She offers a number of services in the Bournemouth area and can advise if you are unsure which might be the most relevant service for you.
