Always look for the opportunity to bask, even if it is the smallest amount of light that you are seeing. Absorb that light and let it illuminate your life.

There is a reason why walking amongst nature is most people’s best advice when depression strikes.
Because walking in nature is a return to ‘home’.
You are not a lover of nature, or a fan of nature, you ‘are’ nature.
You are as much nature as the trees in your garden and the bees on your picnic.
You were designed to live your days out in the wild with your fellow creatures and plants but progress, humanity, had different plans for us all.
And so we exist day-to-day, in our homes, but never ‘home’.
The quickest route back to self, to inner peace, is bare feet on grass, arms around trees, head in the clouds and heart in a forest.
Put your bones in water, whenever you can, smell each flower you see and crumble dirt between your tired-of-typing fingers.
You are nature, go home once in a while.
It will bring you much you didn’t even know you were missing.

In the realm of gardening, there's a particular herb that stands out: borage. This adaptable plant, boasting vibrant blue flowers and a taste reminiscent of cucumbers, brings numerous advantages to both your garden and your personal well-being. Let's explore the wonders of borage and why it merits a place in your green sanctuary.
Borage, scientifically termed Borago officinalis, is an annual herb native to the Mediterranean but now cultivated worldwide. Its distinctive star-shaped blue blooms and fuzzy leaves not only enhance the visual appeal of any garden but also serve practical purposes beyond aesthetics.
One of borage's most appealing traits is its unique flavor. Its leaves and flowers offer a subtle hint of cucumber, making them a refreshing addition to salads, drinks, and desserts. Borage leaves can also garnish dishes or be steeped to create a calming tea. With its adaptable taste and diverse applications, borage is a must-have for culinary enthusiasts.
In addition to its culinary charm, borage boasts a rich history of medicinal use. Packed with essential fatty acids, notably gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), borage oil extracted from its seeds is a popular natural remedy for inflammation, skin issues, and hormonal imbalances. Borage tea is also believed to possess soothing properties, promoting relaxation and overall well-being.
Furthermore, borage contributes significantly to garden ecosystems. Its bright blue flowers are beloved by pollinators like bees and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for attracting beneficial insects. Moreover, borage enriches soil quality by accumulating vital nutrients such as potassium and calcium. Its deep roots aid in soil aeration and drainage, benefiting neighboring plants.
Cultivating borage is relatively straightforward, even for novice gardeners. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, though it can tolerate partial shade and various soil types. Seeds can be sown directly into the ground in spring or started indoors a few weeks earlier. Once established, borage requires minimal upkeep and readily self-seeds, ensuring a continuous supply of foliage and blooms.
In summary, borage is a remarkable herb deserving of recognition in every garden. Whether for its culinary appeal, medicinal benefits, or garden enhancements, the allure of this versatile plant is undeniable. By incorporating borage into your garden, you not only enhance its beauty and biodiversity but also nourish your body and spirit. So, why delay? Plant some borage seeds today and witness the enchantment unfold in your garden!

What would happen
if you removed the thought ‘anxious’
and just paid attention
to these flickering sensations in the belly?

What would happen
if you took away the word ‘lonely’
and simply became fascinated
with this heavy feeling in the heart area?

What would happen
if you deleted the concept ‘sick’
or ‘broken’ or ‘wrong’
and just got curious about
the tightness in the throat
the pressure in the head
the ache in the shoulders?

What would happen
if you stopped looking for solutions
and checked to see
if there was actually a problem here?

Come out of the exhausting storyline, friend.
Come closer to yourself.
Commit sacred awareness to a single living moment.
Bring warmth to the tender place inside.

Infuse sensation
with the light of attention.
Maybe
it’s not as bad
as you
think.

I’m thankful for the light bringers.

The ones that fill your life with the good, good stuff.

The ones who somehow just make you feel better when you’re in their presence; the ones who make your heart rate go down, and the corners of your mouth go up.

The ones you spend time with, and somehow just know deep down that your life is better because they are in it.

The ones who show up for you, the ones who encourage you, the ones who remind you that good people?

They truly do exist.

Search for those people. Seek out those people. Be intentional about creating relationships with those people.

And most importantly - Be grateful for those people.

Their presence in your life? It’s no coincidence. They were hand selected for you, and you for them.

The light bringers; the life givers.

You’ll know when you found them.

Just don’t let go once you do.

Love Always,
Heather

Go where the love is.

Go where the friendship flows both ways. Go where you appreciate and where you are appreciated. Go where the door is open. Go where the communication is good, authentic and honest.

Go where the energy is uplifting. Go where you see and where you are also seen. Go where there is health. Go where the intentions are pure. Go where the expectations are simply that everyone just is themselves.

Go where the spotlight shines on everyone equally. Go where you forgive and where you are forgiven. Go where you want and where you are wanted. Go where you choose and where you are chosen. Go where you value your time and where your time is valued.

Go where the love is.

And unashamedly, bravely and kindly step away from everything else. Life is too short to stay in rooms not made for you.

Go where the love is.

Love,
Amy
