For Kindness Day, residents came together to craft delicate lavender bags designed to offer a moment of comfort to others in the local community.

Each lilac pouch was carefully filled with fragrant lavender and paired with a handwritten message. Once completed, the bags were delivered by residents, bringing quiet joy to those who received them - a welcome lift on these darker, rain-soaked days.

Rain doesn't dampen spirits at Avon Cliff! Our residents recently set out together on the minibus, umbrellas in hand, and were warmly welcomed at the Hiker Café for tea, coffee, and sweet treats.

Our wonderful Companionship Team arranged for Dotty to spend the day volunteering at Wessex Cancer Support's Westbourne shop, after she expressed how much she would love to re-visit her days in retail.

Residents have decided they wanted to take part in the Rotary Shoebox Appeal again this year. So, everyone joined recently in to decorate the boxes with festive Christmas stickers and to write personal messages inside cheerful cards for the children.

Once the decorating was done, the boxes were carefully filled with pens, notebooks, hats, gloves, and small toys, thoughtful gifts chosen to brighten a child’s Christmas morning.

Our residents took great pride in their creations, knowing that each box would bring happiness to a child who might otherwise go without a present this year.

To celebrate National Smile Day, we treated ourselves to delicious hot chocolates with a delightful twist: a splash of Orange Baileys for that extra-special touch! Topped with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and marshmallows.

In the afternoon, residents captured what makes them smile. Keith shared a beautiful piece depicting Bournemouth Beach. He explained that gazing out across the sea at Sandbanks, with Swanage just around the corner, fills him with a profound sense of happiness and calm ☀️🌊

Residents had great fun playing skittles - showing off their aim and coordination with each roll.

This simple yet engaging game is brilliant for boosting hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and overall dexterity, plus, it brings a healthy dose of camaraderie and laughter into the mix!

The final score 10 to 3. Derek was proud of his aim and steady hands, and everyone cheered him on.
