Residents have been feeling really creative lately, so this week we turned our hand to canvas paintings 🎨

Keith, in particular, loved having the opportunity to put paint on canvas again and ended up creating this beautiful landscape picture 🖌️

We’re looking forward to seeing what he’ll paint next!

At Avon Cliff, the residents came together for an afternoon of arts and crafts on a beautiful sunny day.

We gathered some colourful beads and collected some leaves from garden and set out to create intricate tree displays.

Dotty, with her whimsical flair, transformed her tree into a dazzling spectacle with shimmering glitter along its branches. Keith, known for his artistic touch, meticulously shaped twigs into a tree that caught everyone’s eye.

By tea time, a forest of colours bloomed throughout our lounge 🌲🎨

For the third year running, our residents and team proudly took part in the Bourne Free Pride Festival – and this year, we marched in memory of our dear friend and former resident Patrick.

Patrick was the reason we joined the parade back in 2023, and before he sadly passed away earlier this year, he asked Companionship Team Leader Elise to make sure we got back out there again “no matter what.” So that’s exactly what we did.

To honour him, we wore special t-shirts featuring a photo of Patrick at last year’s Pride, smiling with our team – and our residents waved their rainbow flags high as the crowd cheered us on 🏳️‍🌈

Resident Dottie, who’s joined us all three years, said: “It’s a rare chance to see everyone all lovely, happy, and bright. No nastiness – just pure happiness and love. It makes me feel happy and young again.” 💜

Thank you to everyone at Bourne Free for creating such a joyful, inclusive space. We know Patrick would have loved every moment 🌈

Since we have been having such glorious weather recently, we thought it would be the perfect time to try out the new seaside restaurant, Rockwater 🍴☀️

We enjoyed the stunning views over the beach at Branksome over drinks and an array of delicious desserts, and also did a spot of people watching as crowds enjoyed the beach in the sun.

We will definitely be back to this beautiful spot, perhaps it will become our new local?

One of our most loved activities, What’s the Flavour?, returned this month with a playful new twist — a blind tasting of jellies.

It was surprisingly difficult to distinguish between some favourites. (Raspberry or strawberry? Not as easy as you might think!). So, there was laughter and lively conversation aplenty!

Our residents had a wonderful time at our Summer BBQ! ☀️🌭

The sun was shining brightly, and residents Julia and Dotty helped Chefs Vali and Ricky with grilling. To top off the afternoon, we were treated to a delightful performance by Tyler James 🎶

Our residents enjoyed a lovely day out in Wimborne Minster this week. From exploring the market and sharing conversation over lunch to browsing pottery and picking up fresh fruit, it was a day full of simple pleasures.

Renee admired handmade ceramics 🏺, Michael savoured a well-earned pint 🍺, and Sheila happily filled her basket with fresh produce.

A gentle stroll by the Minster was the perfect way to round off a memorable outing. 💛

Our wonderful residents whipped up quite the culinary delight in cookery club, making a batch of cherry Bakewell’s!

The best bit was of course the tasting, and yes, they were delicious! Well done everyone 🍒👏
