Ten years ago today, I took on the lease to the little unit on Roumelia Lane where I have been practicing and developing my therapy practice.
Many, many thanks to all my tutors, fellow students, friends and clients for making it all so very worthwhile.
The images here are from the nearly impossible to find, and truly remarkable book by John Hull Grundy. First edition and absolutely mint condition. An absolute gift to mark the occasion.

The Centre is situated in the wonderful little enclave that is Roumelia Lane, just away from the bustle of central Boscombe, but with the same convenient access to parking and public transport.
Detoxification Acupuncture (NADA Protocol)
In 1972, a Hong Kong neurosurgeon, H.L Wen M.D. found that acupuncture could be used for the relief of the symptoms of drug withdrawal. Five Element Auricular Acupuncture was initially developed through the work of Dr Mike Smith and others at the Lincoln Memorial Hospital in The South Bronx, New York, as part of their Substance Misuse Program. This was so effective that its use rapidly spread across the United States and into the UK, largely promoted by the formation of NADA, the National Auricular Detoxification Association.
Initially developed to ease detoxification, prevent relapse and support long term recovery of those with drug and alcohol dependency issues, it has in recent years been found to assist mental health issues and post traumatic stress disorders, ease the impact of chemotherapy, aid relaxation in young people with hyperactivity and behavioral difficulties, and greatly assist in reducing stress, anxiety and panic disorders. Similarly, it can be of benefit for anyone suffering from the general wear and tear of modern life.
The Acu Detox treatments available at the The Sports Massage Centre take place in a seated group setting, along with some guided Qi Gong, or meditation. Special herbal teas are provided to assist detoxification and relaxation.
The groups are run on a donation basis. There is no fixed fee, you are invited to contribute dependent upon your means, and upon your perceived sense of value. As a guide, £5 per session, per person would be reasonable.
Sessions begin on the hour, and last about forty minutes. There is no need to book, but please arrive on time as there will be no access once the sessions are underway.
The service is fully insured and also registered with Bournemouth Borough Council.
Neuro- Muscular Activation, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Traditional Usui Reiki, Hopi Ear Candling and Transformational Bodywork therapies are available by appointment.
Group Acupuncure bookings are available to individuals and agencies, either in-house or at your location, if suitable.
Annual NADA Practitioner Re-Assessments available
