✨💐 Rose petal water tray 💐✨
With pink water, real roses, petals and a variety of tools and utensils to explore - the children spent time carefully transferring water between containers, some mixing “potions” and others completely focused on mastering the pipettes / syringes - learning just when to squeeze or pull to make the water move!
This kind of sensory play offers so much more than meets the eye.
It supports:
✋ Fine motor skills: as little hands squeeze pipettes, grip scoops and pour steadily
👀 Hand-eye coordination: aiming, filling and emptying different containers
🧐 Problem solving: “why won’t it suck up?” “how full can I make it?”
💬 Language development: sharing ideas, describing what they’re doing and imaginative “potion making”
😌 Emotional regulation: through calming, repetitive actions like pouring and transferring
❤️ Social learning: children watching each other closely and trying new skills they see others using - with older children naturally modelling, demonstrating and sharing what they’ve discovered
…to name just a few!
➡️ Swipe to the end to see one little one who decided the best way to explore was to be fully immersed in her experience 🥰✨
