Before we start working together, there are a few things I hear alot.

Maybe you'll recognise yourself in one of these.

"I just can't get back to sleep after I wake up in the night"

That 3am wake up that turns into two hours of staring at the ceiling. You're exhausted but your brain has other ideas. This is one of the most common things I hear and one of the most fixable.

"I've always been a bad sleeper"

So many people have carried this belief about themselves for years, sometimes decades. It's not a personality trait. It's a pattern, and patterns can change.

"But I already do all the right things"

Good "sleep hygiene" is a great foundation but it's rarely the whole picture. If ticking the boxes isn't working, there's usually something else worth exploring underneath.

"I don't really talk about it, but yes, it affects everything"

Sleep difficulties rarely stay in the bedroom. They creep into relationships, work, mood, patience, and how you feel about yourself. You'd be surprised how much opens up when someone finally feels safe enough to talk about it.

If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone and you don't have to just put up with it.

I'd love to help. Feel free to drop me a message or check the website link in my bio to book a call to find out more 💚

Hi, I'm Hannah.

If you've found your way here, I'm guessing sleep might be getting in the way of you feeling like yourself.

I'm an Occupational Therapist and founder of Delta Waves, and I specialise in helping adults understand and improve their sleep, with real, personalised support tailored to you as an individual.

My background in Occupational Therapy gives me a unique perspective on sleep. I look at the whole picture, your health, your habits, your daily life, and use that understanding to help you build strategies that actually work for you as an individual.

Sleep sits at the heart of everything I do, and that extends into the workplace too. I work with small businesses and teams on workplace wellbeing, supporting employers to take a preventative, people-first approach to staff health. From workplace wellbeing workshops and sleep education to return to work assessments and supporting individuals to remain in their roles through injury, illness or life changes, I help businesses create environments where people feel valued and able to thrive.

If you've been telling yourself you've always been a bad sleeper, I'd gently challenge that. Functioning on poor sleep is not the same as thriving, and you deserve to find out what the difference feels like.

Follow along for honest, practical sleep education and workplace wellbeing insights, and feel free to send me a message if you'd like to find out more 💚

A gentle reminder:

Your brain needs daylight to know when to sleep.

Natural light exposure, particularly earlier in the day, triggers melatonin production at the right time, which is what helps you feel sleepy when evening rolls around. Without enough daylight during the day, that whole rhythm gets disrupted.

Getting outside is genuinely one of the simplest things you can do for your sleep. Not a supplement, not a gadget, just light.

It doesn't have to be a long walk or anything structured. Sitting outside with a coffee, opening a door and standing in the frame for five minutes, a slow wander round the garden. Whatever outside looks like for you, more of it counts.

Even when it's grey out, you're getting far more than you would indoors.

Worth getting outside for.

A bit late with this one but thinking back to last Saturday when I was put through my paces by Lorna

I absolutely loved the session, and using the amazing space. Lorna was incredibly knowledgeable about the best ways to effectively train for hypermobility. I learnt some great new tips and spent the next day aching in places I didn't know could ache 😂 the sign of a great workout!!

Thank you Lorna, I can't wait to come back soon 💚

Yesterday was a great day at The Connection, hosted by

Lots of great conversations were had, and lots of food for thought on how we show up in our businesses from some inspiring women in business.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people, strengtheing existing connections with others and coming away with some plans to put into action for Delta Waves.

Thanks for being such a fabulous host and bringing us all together Michelle 💚
.........I also made friends with a goat on my way home 😂

A little different from my usual sleep and workplace wellbeing content today......

Out in the community visiting one of my long-term clients for a wheelchair assessment, and it was such a rewarding visit. Gaining access to a wheelchair is genuinely life-changing; opening up new environments, the outdoors, and so much more. I love that this is part of my work. 🙌

On long driving days I always try to factor in some movement and a little self-care, and today I stumbled across Roadford Lake. What a find! A beautiful spot for a walk, loads of activities, a lovely café, and it looks perfect for a family day out too. 😍

I will be adding this to my list for family trips over the summer!

I had a mid-way review with a client last week and the progress has been pretty brilliant.

He came to me getting around 3 hours of sleep a night. He's now reporting up to 7.

What's been interesting is what he said made the biggest difference. Not the usual suspects. It was actually understanding the science of sleep, getting why his body and brain do what they do, that shifted something for him.

Once that clicked, the environmental and behaviour changes he made started to land differently.

We're now in the second half of our work together, broadening things out and building the kind of habits that will keep this going long after we finish. Proper sleep resilience for the future.

This is the bit I really love about longer term one to one work. There's space to go deeper and build on the foundations we've already put in place.

Heading into the week feeling grateful for spending time at the weekend with the friends I met through university all those years ago. We have been navigating life, family and our careers together ever since. 💚

The best thing to come out of my OT degree.........these people.

(The career goes without saying 😄)

Well, hello again! 👋

It's safe to say the past couple of weeks have been a lot. Easter holidays with the children, a website upgrade that turned into a full-on systems overhaul, and more than a few moments where I questioned all of my life choices 😅
But I am back to it! And actually..... Everything is running much better, which is a relief.

I'd love for you to take a peek at the updated website and let me know what you think. Link in bio! 🌊
