Through our work as Community Champions we hope to challenge and change out of date negative perceptions of funeral directors by working closely with the communities in which we work. We are more than just a funeral director and have been a family business for over 330 years. We are dedicated to making a difficult time that little bit easier and carry our philosophy that every life is unique in every aspect of our lives. We intend to make a valuable contribution to our local communities and to continue to break down the taboo’s surrounding the work of a funeral director.

A massive 'thank you' to all who donated through our annual Christmas Memorial Service to help raise funds for the LoveChurch appeal to provide Christmas gifts for children of refugee and disadvantaged families in the local area. On Saturday we held our annual Memorial Service at Immanuel Church in Southbourne. This was a beautiful, supportive service led by Sally Nevitt, Elder Persons' chaplain at the Church, and all those attending wrote a message on a bauble to either hang on our memory tree or take home for their own tree. Candles were lit while the roll of honour was read out and Sing People Sing accompanied the candle lighting with an acapella version of Silent Night. This year we are proud to support LoveChurch in Boscombe with their appeal for toys for local refugee and disadvantaged children and we raised £275 from donations! Thank you so much everyone for helping this worthwhile cause!

This year we're supporting the wonderful team at LOVECHURCH St Clement's who are looking to provide Christmas gifts for nearly 200 children/young people in this area who, otherwise, would get nothing for Christmas. If anyone could donate NEW toys for both boys and girls and/or toiletries for the older ones/teens, that would be amazing! Lots of brightly-coloured hats and knitted cardie and hat sets ready to go to the neonatal unit at the Wau Hospital in South Sudan and the Lira Hospital in Northern Uganda via Poole Africa Link - a massive thank you to my lovely volunteer knitters! If anyone would like to help replenish our stocks, I would be extremely grateful! We recently sent over 100 hats to Birmingham Hospital delivery suite following their appeal, and have around the same number ready to take to Poole Hospital maternity unit 😊😊 🧶🧶
