Very progressive for the 1700's!

A fabric womb made by Angélique du Coudray, a French midwife who was commissioned by King Louis XV to reduce infant mortality. From 1760 to 1783, she traveled all over France, visiting poor rural women and sharing her extensive knowledge with them. It is estimated that she trained some 10,000 women.
Du Coudray also invented the first lifesize obstetrical mannequin, for practicing mock births, and published a well-received midwifery textbook

Has anyone been abroad to teach Midwifery or on an elective, any tips?!

The link to more info is 👇🏻and if you have any spare pennies, then it will go directly to those than need it and it will make a difference.
Trip info will be updated on here 😊

Trigger warning: this may be upsetting for anyone that has experienced any sort of trauma or abuse.

What are the experiences of women who freebirth in the UK? This way of giving birth is often stigmatised and condemned by society, but what are the stories b...

I am Emily and I have been a midwife for 10 years.I have worked (and continue to work) in all areas, I have completed a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice and starting my PhD in Midwifery in Jan 2019... midwifery is my passion. I am also dedicated to supporting those who want to be a midwife, whether that is ‘just a thought’, about to be interviewed, or on their midwifery course. I am someone that was so lucky to find midwifery and I have worked my way up, academia was not easy but I always knew that being a midwife was all I wanted to be. Now I am here, with Hannah, to support you all to realise your dream too. Emily x
