We recently took a fantastic group of young people from MyTime Young Carers on a ‘Day in the Workplace’ to celebrate those completing the Employability course and what an inspiring day it was!

Our first stop was Bournemouth University, where the young carers explored the campus facilities, discovered the wide range of courses on offer and learned about the support available to help them succeed in higher education. It was a great opportunity to see what university life can look like and start imagining future pathways.

We then visited Calcinotto, where staff generously shared their personal career journeys, offering insights and encouragement. The young carers also stepped into the spotlight themselves, taking part in mock interviews and building confidence in a supportive, real-world setting.

Days like this are so valuable in broadening horizons, building confidence, and showing young carers just how many possibilities are open to them. We are incredibly proud that we could provide the transport for this special day.

Sedcat Community Transport also provides a Shopmobility service at Castlepoint Shopping Park, Bournemouth 🛍️

If you or someone you care for needs a little extra support to get around while shopping, our Shopmobility service offers mobility scooters and wheelchairs to help make your visit easier, safer, and more enjoyable. We also provide mobility equipment on a longer-loan bases if you are here on holiday or have just had an op and want to keep mobile.

🌼 A Lovely Day Out at Hillier Garden Centre! 🌼

This month, the Somerford ARC group enjoyed a wonderful outing to Hillier Garden Centre, made possible with transport provided by SEDcat (South East Dorset Community Accessible Transport). 🚐💚

Everyone had a fantastic time browsing the beautiful plants, enjoying a cup of tea and cake, and soaking up the friendly atmosphere. Trips like these mean so much helping our members get out, socialise, and stay connected with the community.

A huge thank you to our driver for making the journey comfortable, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. Your support helps us keep these special days going and makes a real difference in people’s lives. 🌸✨

🚐✨ A Fun Day Out to LEGOLAND! 🎢🌈

We were delighted to provide the transport for a group of excited school children on their special day out to LEGOLAND! 🎒😁

At SEDCAT, we’re proud to support our community in all sorts of ways and this trip was a great reminder that our transport services aren’t just for the elderly ❤️. Whether it’s a school outing, community event, or a group trip, we’re here to help anyone get where they need to go safely and comfortably.

💉 Flu & COVID Vaccinations at Castlepoint Shopmobility – Today! 💉

The NHS team will be at Castlepoint Shopmobility today between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, offering free Flu and COVID jabs to anyone who qualifies.

The eligibility for flu this autumn those aged 65 years and over, those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups, those in long-stay residential care homes, carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person, close contacts of immunocompromised individuals and frontline workers in a social care.

Eligibility for the covid vaccination is focused on those at highest risk of severe illness. This includes adults aged 75 and over, residents of older adult care homes, and individuals aged 6 months and over with immunosuppression

No need to book – just drop by during the session and get protected for the winter! 💪

Come join us and many other Charities in Christchurch to hear about all the support available in the area.

Please spread the word, ElderFest is go! The purpose of the event is to showcase the wide range of organisations and activities offering services to support and enable people to "live their best life for longer" in Christchurch.

There will be some brief talks and demos along with the chance to grab some leaflets and talk to other attendees and service providers. A cup of tea or two will also be on offer so please do come along.
