Today we marked National Cinema Day with a movie quiz consisting of a question round and a guess the movie from the scene round while enjoying popcorn. We rounded off the afternoon listening to songs from movies 🍿 🎥

Yesterday we celebrated Norma’s birthday. Norma spent time celebrating with her family during the day and was presented with a holiday themed birthday cake, made by our cook Pearl, which celebrated her passion for holidays throughout the years. Many happy returns Norma 🎂🥂

We would like to wish our lovely resident Gordon a happy birthday. Gordon was presented with a personalised cake made by our chef Amanda which paid homage to Gordon’s career as a gardener. Many happy returns, we hope you had a lovely day 🎂

This fantastic result is a true credit to the incredible hard work, dedication, and passion that Amanda and Pearl put into our kitchen every single day. 🍴💛 Their commitment ensures our residents are not only enjoying delicious meals, but also the highest standards of safety and care.
We are so proud of you both – this is such a well-deserved recognition! 🙌

This afternoon resident Sue enjoyed a walk around our local sunflower trail and wildflower meadow. There wasnt a cloud in the sky as we wandered around the trail. It was lovely seeing all the different shapes, sizes and colours of sunflowers. To cool off we enjoyed a homemade ice cream from the farm cafe. Sue chose her favourite flavour, chocolate and was suprised to find chunks of chocolate in the middle. We even spent some time on a bench in the shade watching other visitors enjoying their day out 🌻

What a lovely summers day we have had. Celebrating Afternoon Tea Week could only be done in one way, an afternoon in the garden. Thank you to all the kitchen staff for a beautiful selection of sandwiches, bright colourful salads such as feta cheese and watermelon along with some delicious sweet treats. Vocalist Gina Kay put on an energetic performance for us as we sipped on prosecco and pimms and enjoyed eachothers company 🌞💃🏻

This morning some of our residents spent the morning keeping cool and making some delicious summer pudding trifles. The recipe was one that our resident David had found and wanted to try. The desserts are going to be enjoyed tomorrow at our resident and staff afternoon tea party

Well, today was supposed to be the big day…
Lee was all set to take the plunge (literally!) with a skydive over the stunning Lake District. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans — high winds meant it had to be cancelled for safety reasons. 😔💨
Disappointed but not defeated, Lee will be rebooking soon — and when the time comes, the skies better behave! ✈️☀️

Watch this space... the jump is still happening, just a little later than planned
