A year of service and gratitude in Brackley 🎖️✨

As we mark the end of Mayor Bernie Tiller’s term today, we would like to take a moment to share his final column from this month’s Life in Brackley magazine.

Over the past year, Bernie has reflected on his time meeting residents, visiting schools, care homes, local groups and businesses, and experiencing first hand the kindness and community spirit that makes Brackley what it is.

His final piece is a personal reflection on service, connection, and gratitude, and we encourage everyone to read it in full in this month’s magazine or on our community blogs page.

Last night, Phoenix and Charley were invited to the Meet the Mayor event at Brackley Town Hall as special guests 🌟

It was a lovely evening, full of stories about Brackley’s history and how it became the town we all know and love today.

We were also joined by John Harvey, former Buckingham Mayor, who has written a wonderful book called The Mayor’s Bear. He very kindly gifted the children a signed copy, which made the evening even more special📕

Phoenix and some other special guests were made honorary mayors for the night and were presented with their very own Brackley chains.

On the 2nd of May, our Mayor will pass his chains on to the next Mayor of Brackley. We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for his invaluable contributions to Life in Brackley magazine, as well as his dedication and service as Mayor.

Thank you, Bernie, for everything you’ve done. Brackley has been so lucky to have your support, and we hope to welcome you back in the years to come 🩵
