I'M BACKKK!!!! 👋 But this time, things look a little different 👀

After focusing all of my attention on supporting other birth workers I have recently trained as a Doula with the amazing ⚡

I am now looking to support families in the Brackley and Banbury area and offering my services as a birth Doula. 💕

Not sure what one of those is yet?

💚A birth Doula is someone who educates and prepares you for birth. We would do that through multiple meet ups as I get to know you and your family.

💚 A birth Doula has experience within the birth world and will be able to advocate for you and provide you with evidence based information to help you make informed decisions.

💚 A birth Doula is a support, in whichever form you want them to be during labour. That could be practical support such as helping with the children or physical support such as light touch massage.

In lesson 3 this week we spoke about induction.

Did you know that 1 in 3 labour's are induced and so it's always important to do some research as you are likely to be offered one at some point.

There are many reasons why you may be 'offered' one (which doesn't mean you HAVE TO accept by the way). I have listed the most common reasons above but remember to always use your b.r.a.i.n and ask yourself...

What are the benefits?
What are the risks?
Are there any alternatives?
What does your instinct say?
What happens if you do nothing?

If you do decide to accept an induction, remember to work with those hormones and make your environment safe and cosy.

Never heard of the Golden Hour?

THIS is what it is all about... Holding your baby for the first time after labour and feeling like a total badass.

Reserach has now shown that there are many benefits for baby and birther when you are able to hold your baby skin to skin, especially after labour.

This quiet and undisturbed time helps bonding and regulates the baby's breathing and temperature. All of these things make your baby feel safe in an new environment.

I have decided to release a cheaper course as times are HARD right now but having a positive birth is still so important.

This course will be spread over 4 weeks as I teach hypnobirthing in digestable sessions. That makes each session £20 each and if your birth partner joins you (which they totally should!) that's £10 each per week.

And with that you will become more knowledgable and confident about birth. The price also includes a shed load of resources plus me, who you can ask questions to at any time during your pregnancy.

Due dates aren't exact and can often cause alot of unnecessary stress.

If you find yourself 'overdue' here are some suggestions to take your mind off it and also enjoy those last moments with your bump.

I was totally prepared to do some painting, cleaning and cooking but Hazza had other ideas.
