Our annual Summer Fayre 🌞has come and gone and yet again it was a wonderfully happy and exciting event with lots going on. We had lovely stalls selling a variety of wares 🍀and our residents even had their own stall selling herbs, runner beans, lavender bags, plant holders 🪴and pompom ornaments. No-one can ever get tired of Punch 🤡and Judy who entertained us all – young and old – the entire afternoon and we had the privilege of watching the flea circus perform for us.
Thanks go to Jarl and his fantastic team from the Rapid Relief Team who supplied staff, residents and guests with delicious complimentary donuts 🍩 and speciality coffees ☕️ throughout the event.

Massive thanks 🙏 go to our wonderful Mayor, Cllr Bernie Tiller for officially opening the event – and to his lovely wife Kim for their support on the day. We were honoured to be able to use this day to fundraise for our Mayor’s Charity B-Yourself 💜.

Congratulations go to the winners 🏆of our “Welcome Home Greeting Card Competition” 🎨who were presented with their prizes on the day. 🌞

We had a lovely evening at our monthly Quiz and Buffet event for families and residents. Chef prepared a delicious spread of savoury and sweet treats. 🧁 🥪 🍱

Our residents and guests decided to have three teams - The Sulgrave Saints, The Winners and The Leprechauns 🍀. We had some easy, some difficult and some very funny questions. The Winners came third, The Sulgrave Saints second and The Leprechauns, led by one of our newest residents Fred were the winners. We had a lovely evening with lots of giggles and we are really looking forward to the next quiz evening.

Our popular resident Sonia also turned 88 and she celebrated her birthday at our quiz and buffet evening with her son. It goes without saying that our Chef prepared a wonderful cake for Sonia which everyone enjoyed and her son also took some cake home to share with the family as he said it was so yummy 🤤.

Over the weekend our resident Lizzie celebrated her 81st birthday in a private party in our beautiful library.

Surrounded by her family they celebrated with a special birthday cake prepared by our Chef as well as some Bucks Fizz 🍾.

The family had a lovely, lazy Sunday afternoon together.

Our residents were able to have the best of both worlds on Friday morning and combine their much loved arts and crafts with a fabulous morning of companionship and chatter with members from the local Chatty Cafe. 💛

We sat outside and took advantage of the lovely weather and had cream scones and cake and chatted up a storm ☕️🧁💛

Thank you to the amazing John and Sharon from Chatty Cafe for making this wonderful event a reality and to our volunteers Mirjam and Louise for facilitating the arts and crafts session 💜💛👏🙏

We received more than 150 entries in our “Welcome Home Greeting Card Competition” and we were astounded by the depth of artistic talent from the 12 years and under in Brackley.

Our judges were Cllr Bernie Tiller, Mayor of Brackley, and two residents of Brackley Care Home, Richard Musson and Anne Sequeira, who has a degree in Design. Our judges spent a long time deliberating and said it was a difficult task choosing the winner however, they hoped that this competition had inspired the imaginations of all the children who took part.

Local pupil, Monty (age 10), was crowned the winner of the competition and his winning entry will be used as our official Welcome card to provide a warm welcome to all new residents. Monty’s design depicts a colourful house with balloons, a river and flowers.

Amelia (age 9) and Ffion (age 11) were the runners up.
Our prize winners, who were all from the Radstone Primary School, were presented with their prizes by Cllr Bernie Tiller at our Summer Fayre on the 19th July. They all received Hobbycraft vouchers so that they can continue to express their creative skills.

The residents always enjoy a visit to the Flight Deck Cafe at Turweston Airfield and it usually doesn't disappoint and this time we were privileged to see a Lear jet, a parachute plane, a helicopter arriving and departing and even a car being put through its paces on the runway

However, in between the action we enjoy the lovely views from the cafe and get involved in much chit chat. On this visit Jill talked about her Dad playing cricket and Margaret shared memories of her Brownie and Girl Guides outings.

We recently held our monthly Community Coffee Morning which is always held on the third Wednesday of every month 🧁☕️.

Thank you to the ladies from the WI Brackley who attended this event for joining in our impromptu tea dance 💃 to the beautiful sounds of Sarah Riad on the sax and clarinet 🎺🎷. Our residents loved every second !! Sarah played a wide variety of songs which everyone appreciated and enjoyed💜.

Our Chef prepared some delicious cakes for the event which were enjoyed by all 🎂🍰🧁🥮🍥

Thank you Sarah for bringing your beautiful music to us 🎶🎼🎵🎷🎺👏💃
