Happy 84th Birthday to David! 🥳
We had such a lovely day celebrating this milestone.
​The highlight was definitely the custom cake with chocolate toppings—though David couldn’t resist sneaking a bite before we could even snap a photo! 😂 The day was made even more special with a surprise visit from his daughter, filling the afternoon with so much love and laughter. Cheers to 84 years of being wonderful! ❤️🎂

Celebrating Scottish Tradition! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
​We’ve been busy getting ready for Burns Night (January 25th) in our arts and crafts sessions! Our residents have been channeling their inner designers, decorating Highland dancers and crafting beautiful pleated paper kilts. ✂️👗
​These masterpieces are being turned into festive garlands to decorate our café area—keep an eye out for them next time you visit!
​We also held a friendly art competition, with our very own Pip as the judge. 🎨
​Margaret blew us away with her detailed Highland cow.
​Linda coordinated her character’s outfit to match her own cheerful style!
​Joyce, who modestly claimed she wasn’t "especially artistic," ended up taking home the win with her wonderful creation! Proof that it’s always worth giving it a go. 🏆

​We had such a fantastic afternoon welcoming the lovely and vibrant Yvette from Music, Movement & Fun with Yvette back to our home!
​Yvette truly brings the "party" with her—literally bringing the bells, whistles, and hats that our residents absolutely adore. 🥳
​Take a look at this video of everyone having a blast on the keyboards! 🎹 While it looks like pure play, our residents are actually getting a great workout, exercising their hands and fingers through the power of music.

Bringing Colour to Winter Days! 🎨🐦

​Later this month, many of our residents will be joining the world’s largest garden wildlife survey: the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. To get into the spirit, we’ve been busy turning our home into an indoor sanctuary with some beautiful bird-themed artwork!
​From painting to collage, the creativity was flying:
​Janet surprised herself by creating a vibrant orange flock: "I don't usually like to colour, but today I did and I just kept adding to it!"
​Jill was incredibly focused on her masterpiece and is already looking forward to finishing it next session.
​Linda mixed techniques, using bright shapes and collage to bring her birds to life.
​These wonderful, bright pieces are the perfect remedy for these dull winter days. We’re all set for the big count!

Animal Magic at Brackley Care Home 🐾

​There is nothing quite like the joy of a visit from Lucia’s Tiny Farm. Our lounge was buzzing this week as we welcomed a whole parade of furry and feathered friends!
​From Charlie the rabbit and Coco the dog to the tiny paws of Socks the rat, our residents (and some lucky visitors!) had a wonderful time getting up close and personal with nature.
​Highlight of the day: Jean perfectly captured the spirit of the visit, saying: “Isn’t it wonderful how I can be petting a rat one minute and a rabbit the next!” We missed seeing Red the snake and Bernard the Bearded Dragon this time around. We’re sending all our love and "get well soon" wishes to Bernard—we hope you're back on your feet (all four of them!) very soon. 🦎❤️

Spreading the Love (and Shortbread!) in Brackley ❤️
​We believe there’s nothing quite like a sweet treat to bring a community together! Recently we had the absolute pleasure of visiting our neighbors at Ellesmere Lodge, the local Churchill retirement property.
​Our very own Head Chef Fiona has been busy in the kitchen whipping up batches of her famous homemade, heart-shaped shortbread. We were delighted to hand over a big delivery of these individually wrapped treats to Nina, the Sales Executive at Ellesmere Lodge, to share with all the residents.
​It’s always a joy to support our local Brackley community, one biscuit at a time! 🍪✨

🍏 Sweet Success at Brackley Cuisine Club!

​Our kitchen was buzzing this afternoon as we whipped up some golden Apple Puffs! 🥧
​The pastry cutting was a bit of a challenge, but thanks to some great teamwork and a helping hand from a resident’s daughter, we folded them to perfection. 🤝✨
​The hardest part? Waiting for them to cool! One bite of that warm, flaky goodness and the smiles on everyone's faces said it all. Pure autumn bliss! 😋
