Our Friday arts and crafts sessions are always a highlight of the week! This morning, residents enjoyed a relaxing time of creativity, sharing stories, and reminiscing together. A huge shout-out to Ronnie, who amazed us all with her freehand drawing—a true work of art! 🎨🖌

👏A Community Event for a Great Cause 🙏

This Saturday from 2pm to 4pm, our residents are holding their annual OlderPreneurs Table Top Sale, and they can't wait to see you there. We have some wonderful bargains on offer and a Cake stall, bottle tombola, beautiful books, clothes, household items, toys and so much more. We also have a stall of brand new items so pop in and pick up a real bargain. We will also have a raffle where £1 could win you a great prize !!!

​This year, we're fundraising for Katharine House Hospice and our residents are so proud to be able to make a difference, and your support would mean the world to them.

​Please come and browse for a bargain, chat with our residents, and treat yourself to a cup of tea or coffee with some homemade cakes. We can't wait to welcome you !!!

We're so proud of our veggie garden. It's the pride and joy of our residents, who put so much love into it—and it shows in the amazing crop we harvest every year.
​Our daily harvest of tomatoes is used in salads, and we share the surplus with staff and visitors. The runner beans are picked, prepared, and cooked to go with the Sunday roast.

The drone of the hive was a little louder yesterday as our beekeeper, Simon, came to visit.
He gently added an excluder—a clever screen that separates the queen bee's chamber from the rest of the hive. This ensures she stays put to continue laying eggs. Meanwhile, the worker bees will pass through to fill the upper box with nectar, which will soon be transformed into sweet honey.
We're all learning so much from Simon about the art of beekeeping and the incredible world of these humble creatures.

On Friday we dove into the world of creative reuse for our morning Arts and Crafts activity. In preparation for Zero Waste Week - which is this week - we got inventive, transforming recycled materials into incredible displays.

​The concept was a little unusual for some, but everyone embraced the challenge and created some truly lovely pieces.

While a few of the items still need some finishing touches, the creativity on display was amazing. 🖌🎨👏

We fully embraced the nationwide Zero Waste Week initiative, which encourages businesses and individuals to re-evaluate their waste's impact. With the UK generating around 200 million tons of waste each year, the need for practical solutions has never been more urgent.
​This year's focus was on fun and games!
The attendees of our monthly Memory Cafe and our residents really enjoyed an afternoon of challenge and concentration to complete these games which used recycled materials, including old boxes which were adapted for the specific games.
They all agreed that often the most fun comes from something so simple !!!

The South Northants Youth Engagement Team put on an incredible event at Brackley Town Park!
We had a blast joining in on the fun and raising funds for this wonderful organization.
​Our raffle at the Brackley Care Home stand was a huge success, all thanks to you!
It's great to see so many people come together to celebrate the end of summer.

We decided to mark the last day of summer by making wholemeal bread rolls to go with our Sunday evening buffet supper.
Our residents were joined by our lovely volunteer Erin who helped them flour and roll the dough.
We then gave the rolls to chef who baked and brought them back to us with some lovely pats of butter.
As with all food made by our Cuisine Club, the end results were enjoyed by all. 🥖 🥯 🍞
