✨ “Running a small business is easy… right?” ✨

Said no solo business owner ever 👀

Behind the scenes we’re all juggling…
📱 messages and bookings
🧺 cleaning and prep
📊 finances and paperwork
💻 social media and marketing
🧠 and trying to switch off at the end of the day (but rarely doing it!)

And yet… we still show up every day giving our absolute best 🤍

They say it takes a village to raise a family…
✨ but it takes a community to grow a small business ✨

So here’s a little reminder—for my fellow small business owners and those who support us:

✨ Support doesn’t have to cost a thing
• Like a post
• Leave a review
• Recommend someone
• Share their work
• Send a kind message

These small things? They make a huge difference 🌿

Because when you run a business on your own, you really do feel it all—the highs, the quiet days, and everything in between

Let’s make it easier for each other ✨
Let’s support, lift and recommend more 🤍

Who’s with me ….

This is something I struggle with, but do you know what ✨ It’s OK to blow your own trumpet ✨

As a small business owner, this one can feel uncomfortable…
Talking about yourself, your skills, your experience… it can feel a bit “look at me” 🙈

But here’s the truth 👇

If you don’t share what you do…
how will people know how you can help them?

I’ve spent years training, learning, and treating so many wonderful patients.
From pain and stress… to sleep, hormones, and overall wellbeing.

And I’m proud of that 💚

Not in a loud or boastful way…
but in a quiet confidence that comes from experience, care, and results.

Because behind every treatment is:
✨ Years of study
✨ Ongoing training
✨ Hundreds of clinical hours
✨ A genuine passion to help people feel better

So yes… sometimes I will remind you what I do 😊
Not to show off… but so you know where to come when you need support.

And if you’re a small business owner reading this…
this is your reminder too 👇

🌿 You’re allowed to be proud
🌿 You’re allowed to talk about your work
🌿 You’re allowed to be seen

Because what you do matters.

And the people who need you… need to hear about you.

Sarah 💚

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Body Clock ⏰🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body follows a 24-hour energy cycle, often called the TCM Organ Clock. Each organ system has a time of day when its energy is at its strongest, helping the body restore, repair and function optimally.

Understanding this natural rhythm can help us support our health, energy and sleep patterns.

The TCM Body Clock

🌅 3–5am – Lung
The body begins to wake and oxygenate the blood. Deep breathing and fresh air are beneficial at this time.

☀️ 5–7am – Large Intestine
The body naturally detoxifies. This is a good time for bowel movements and starting the day with warm water.

🥣 7–9am – Stomach
The digestive system is strongest. A nourishing breakfast helps provide energy for the day.

🌿 9–11am – Spleen
Food is transformed into energy (Qi). Mental focus and productivity are often strong.

❤️ 11am–1pm – Heart
Circulation and mental clarity peak. A good time for connection and communication.

🌤 1–3pm – Small Intestine
Nutrients continue to be absorbed. A short break or gentle rest can help avoid an afternoon slump.

💧 3–5pm – Bladder
The body’s energy rises again. This can be a good time for movement or exercise.

🌅 5–7pm – Kidney
Energy reserves are supported. A balanced evening meal is ideal.

🌙 7–9pm – Pericardium
The body begins to wind down. Relaxation and connection with loved ones are beneficial.

🌜 9–11pm – Triple Burner
The body prepares for sleep and hormone regulation. Ideally, this is when we should be heading to bed.

🌙 11pm–1am – Gallbladder
Decision-making and tissue repair occur. Deep sleep is important at this time.

🌙 1–3am – Liver
The body detoxifies the blood and processes emotions. Waking regularly at this time may indicate stress or emotional tension.

Why This Matters

Living in harmony with this natural rhythm can help support:

✨ Better sleep
✨ Improved digestion
✨ Balanced energy
✨ Emotional wellbeing

🌿 Your body has its own internal rhythm — sometimes it just needs the space and rest to follow it.

The Importance of a Good Bedtime Routine 🌙

Sleep is one of the most important foundations of good health, yet it’s often the first thing we sacrifice when life gets busy. A consistent bedtime routine helps signal to your body and mind that it’s time to switch off, allowing your nervous system to move from “go mode” into “rest and repair.”

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body follows a natural rhythm through the night where different organs restore and rebalance the body. When we regularly stay up late or go to bed feeling overstimulated, it can make it harder for the body to fully recharge.

Why a Good Bedtime Routine Matters

A good routine can help:

✨ Improve sleep quality
✨ Reduce stress and anxiety
✨ Support hormone balance
✨ Boost energy levels the next day
✨ Help the nervous system relax

Simple Ways to Create a Better Bedtime Routine

🌙 Keep a regular sleep time
Try to go to bed at a similar time each night. Your body loves routine.

📵 Reduce screen time before bed
Phones and tablets stimulate the brain and can delay sleep. Aim to switch off screens 30–60 minutes before bed.

🛁 Create a wind-down ritual
A warm bath, gentle stretching, reading or breathing exercises can help your body transition into rest.

🕯 Keep your bedroom calm and comfortable
A cool, dark and clutter-free space can improve sleep quality.

🌿 Avoid caffeine late in the day
Try to have your last caffeinated drink earlier in the afternoon.

📓 Empty your mind
If your mind races at night, try writing down tomorrow’s to-do list so your brain can switch off.

🌙 Support relaxation naturally
Magnesium, herbal teas, gentle acupuncture or reflexology treatments can help calm the nervous system.

Good sleep doesn’t usually happen instantly — it’s built through small habits repeated over time.

Your body does its best healing when you’re resting.

✨ *Protect your sleep and you protect your health.*

Food = Qi (Energy) in Traditional Chinese Medicine 🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, food is one of the most powerful ways we support our health. What we eat doesn’t just fuel the body — it helps create Qi, our vital life energy.

Qi powers everything in the body. It supports our energy levels, digestion, immune system, circulation and mental clarity. When Qi is strong we feel energised and balanced. When Qi is weak we may feel tired, sluggish, foggy or run down.

In TCM, the Spleen and Stomach are responsible for transforming the food we eat into Qi and Blood. Think of it like the body “cooking” food to extract nourishment. When digestion is strong, the body can create steady energy to support us throughout the day.

This is why regular, nourishing meals are so important. Skipping meals, eating too many processed foods, or relying on sugar and caffeine can weaken the digestive system over time and lead to low energy.

TCM encourages:
✨ Warm, nourishing foods
✨ Balanced meals with protein, vegetables and whole grains
✨ Eating regularly to maintain steady energy
✨ Supporting digestion so the body can create healthy Qi

🌿 When we nourish our body well, we nourish our Qi.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, dehydration can show up in ways we may not always recognise.

Signs your body may need more fluids include:

• dry skin
• headaches
• fatigue
• brain fog
• dark urine
• constipation
• feeling overheated

Fluids help nourish Yin, which in TCM represents the cooling, moistening aspect of the body.

Looking after your hydration supports:
✨ digestion
✨ energy levels
✨ skin health
✨ circulation

When Yin becomes depleted we may feel dry, tired or overheated.

Simple ways to support hydration:

• drink warm water regularly
• enjoy herbal teas
• add soups and broths to meals
• eat fruits and vegetables rich in water

Small daily habits can help restore balance and support overall wellbeing.

Take a Moment 🌿

In a world that moves fast, taking a moment can feel like a luxury — but in truth, it’s a necessity.

A moment to breathe deeply.
A moment to step away from the noise.
A moment to reconnect with yourself.

When we pause, even briefly, our nervous system has the chance to reset. Our mind becomes clearer, our body softens, and we can move forward with more calm and focus.

Just a few quiet minutes can lower stress, ease tension, and bring you back into balance.

So today, wherever you are, take a moment.
Breathe in… breathe out… and allow yourself to simply be.

Your wellbeing matters. 🌿
