Hi, I’m Jo,
I'm a Dramatherapist and intergrative counsellor.

I have pondered the question of why are communities important to our mental health, especially as many often retract from this. Finding the right community can foster a sense of belonging, understanding and acceptance both by others and of ourself. Building connections with others who understand and respect your experiences is incredibly valuable.

For neurodivergent individuals, this might mean connecting with other neurodivergent people through groups, and building neuro affirming connections that can provide practical and emotional support.

For those facing mental health issues, seeking out understanding friends, family, or professionals can make a big difference. Shared experiences create a sense of community, reminding us that we’re not alone in our journey.

For me, those I work with, and the select friendships I hold allow connection, space and decompression and I value these connections in the challenges life can give. ❤️

Sensory box creation helps to have go to objects and reminders to support regulation, (and can be a fun creative activity to support processing!!)

I am passionate about the need to support and accept those with additional needs and to support personal acceptance. In a world full of expectations and ‘fitting in’ so many need to learn more and recognise the power in our differences.
