This is my go-to meditation when I can't get out of my own head. With practice it's made me become more aware of my own thoughts and thought patterns, and helps to put my thoughts back into perspective.
Thinking is of course what our minds do, and is hugely beneficial, but overthinking brings increased levels of stress and when we get ourselves stuck in this kind of head space it can start to really suck the enjoyment out of life.
This simple technique teaches us to become more aware of our thoughts, bringing us out of our heads and back into the present moment.
So when you're next in an over-think-a-thon give this meditation a try and see if it helps.
