💗💜💙 Today is Bi Visibility Day – a chance to celebrate the bi community, challenge stereotypes, and highlight the unique experiences of those who are often overlooked or misunderstood.

At SupportU, we know that visibility matters. Bi+ people can face erasure and exclusion both inside and outside of LGBTQ+ spaces, which makes recognition and understanding even more important.

🌈 Our team provides training, support, and safe spaces to help workplaces and communities become more inclusive – ensuring that everyone, including bi+ individuals, feels seen, respected, and supported.

Let’s work together to build a world where no one has to hide who they are.

Recently, our Interim COO Emily met with Bracknell Forest’s MP, Peter Swallow.

Peter is the first Labour MP for Bracknell, bringing a fresh and locally rooted perspective to Parliament. With an impressive academic background and a strong focus on education, infrastructure, social equity, and community issues, he has quickly established himself as an active and engaged representative - committed to driving meaningful change both locally and nationally.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Peter has also been vocal about the importance of equality and inclusion.

Reflecting on the meeting, Emily said:
“I was impressed with Peter’s commitment to LGBTQ+ issues and his willingness to support us as a charity. He was genuinely enthusiastic about our new ideas and how we can work together to drive things forward. It was refreshing to meet an MP who truly cares about change, inclusion, and community support - not only in Bracknell, but beyond”.

Join us tomorrow as we recognise and celebrate the omnisexual community this Omnisexual Visibility Day! It’s a chance to raise awareness, share resources, and support those attracted to all genders, often with varying preferences.

The day encourages learning, conversation, and visibility, highlighting the unique experiences of omnisexual people and promoting inclusion across the LGBTQ+ spectrum.

Please read our latest update.

As we continue to review SupportU’s direction, we want to let you know that we won’t be at this year’s Wokingham Pride, Windsor & Eton Pride, or Reading Pride.

Unfortunately, we also won’t be hosting our annual Pride Picnic.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with us directly, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Every July, we celebrate Disability Pride Month - a time for disabled people to come together, share experiences, and celebrate creativity, resilience, and achievement.

It’s also a chance to embrace disability identity, challenge stigma, and show allyship through meaningful support and celebration.

Did you know, the Disability Pride flag’s rainbow of colours reflects the diverse experiences within the disabled community - spanning physical, sensory, non-visible, developmental, and mental health conditions.

Each colour represents a specific area:

Red – Physical disabilities
Gold – Neurodiversity
White – Non-visible or undiagnosed conditions
Blue – Mental health and emotional conditions
Green – Sensory impairments (e.g. hearing, vision)

Help change the conversation. Speak up, be proud, and create change.

We’re currently taking some time to review how we do things at SupportU and explore how we can better serve our community. While this review is underway, all upcoming groups and events will be paused.

This includes Chill Out, The Mix, Pride Circle, Pride in Motion and all our upcoming sports workshops.

We understand this news will be disappointing for those who attend and rely on these sessions. However, we believe it’s important to take this time to reflect and reassess how we operate - so we can return stronger and more impactful.

We’ll be back - bigger, better, and with some exciting new developments - so keep an eye out for what’s to come!
