WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE AN INJURY
If you have suffered a muscle and/or ligament injury, you are probably experiencing one or both of the following :

- Limited movement within the affected muscle group
- Pain and discomfort

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PREVENT OR TREAT INJURIES

For the fastest and best remedy for these types of injuries, you will need a sports massage from me. If you are preventing an injury, a sports massage from me will :

- Alleviate tension build up in soft tissue
- Promote flexibility, performance, and range of movement
- Aid relaxation and promotes the well-being of your body, not just your muscles and ligaments

If you have an injury, a sports massage from me will :

- Aid faster healing of the strained muscles and ligaments
- Improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and relaxes the contracted muscles
- Stimulate the stretch reflex in muscles
- Break down scar tissue which was a result of an injury

The Role of Recovery

Rest and recovery are just as important as training. 🏋️‍♀️

When you exercise, your muscles develop tiny micro-tears. Recovery — through sleep, nutrition, hydration, and massage — is when repair happens, making muscles stronger.

It baths articular cartilage in a smooth fluid environment to improve joint movement and force absorption.

Synovia is so intelligent it can even change it's behavior from a fluid to a stiff gel when increased load is added to the joint.

This further helps with force absorption and even joint integrity under load.

Overuse injuries, repetitive strain and cumulative tissue disorders

Whether it’s participating in sport, to performing daily tasks or work related movement, we are all susceptible to “tissue damage from repetitive demand over a period of time”.

How many of us have suffered from:
Tennis elbow, golfers elbow, hamstring strains, runners knee, thoracic outlet syndrome, Piriformis syndrome, plantar fasciitis? Some common conditions resulting from over use. Stabbing pain, “electrical burning sensation”, throbbing and aching are all sensations described with such conditions.

The “strain” occurs in tendons, ligaments, nerves and connective tissue due to fatigue and can lead to body wide compensations, reactive spasms and prolonged pain.

Deep tissue remedial massage is very effective in helping to restore blood and oxygen supply to the dysfunctional tissues and nerves helping to minimise the damage and restore them to their efficient state. Sports massage not only helps to remodel the connective tissue but through regular maintenance massage can help to prevent such conditions occurring - massage isn’t just for injury but helps prevent our body falling into “strain and dysfunction”.

About TC Sports Massage & Exercise Classes

Hello and welcome to our page. TC Sports Massage and Exercise Classes offers an all rounded approach to fitness and exercise. Run by Tracy Clements, a fully qualified group exercise Advanced Les Mills instructor. Tracy is passionate about helping people keep fit and stay fit. She is also a fully qualified sports massage therapist. She runs classes both virtually and in person.

EXERCISE CLASSES We offer 1-2-1 or small group exercise classes covering Body Combat, Body Attack, Body Balance, Body Pump (please note you would need your own equipment for this class) and Grit (30 minute High Intensity HIT Class).
